Spider-Man: Brand New Day has set a franchise record, even before the public has had a chance to see a single frame. AMC Theatres has listed that the movie runs for a total of 150 minutes, 2 hours and 30 minutes, which incidentally is the longest time that a Spider-Man film has been on the screen.
The runtime for ‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’ is reportedly 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Such a record is not only significant for the Spider-Man series, but it has implications for the whole MCU as well. Out of the 37 Marvel movies released so far, only four have exceeded the running time of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (149 min), Eternals (156 min), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (161 min), and Avengers: Endgame (182 min). All the other MCU films’ durations were below the 150-minute mark.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Has The Longest Runtime
A still from the upcoming film | Credits: Sony Pictures Releasing Spider-Man: Brand New Day has a running time of 2 hours and 30 minutes, which is a significant and also an advantage over all other Spider-Man movies. In fact, Tom Holland’s previous film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which for the first time brought the three live-action Spider-Men together on the same screen, lasted only 2 hours and 28 minutes. Brand New Day surpasses that by a whole 2 minutes. For a better understanding, here is the duration of all Spider-Man movies:
| Movie | Runtime |
| Spider-Man (2002) | 2h 1m |
| Spider-Man 2 (2004) | 2h 7m |
| Spider-Man 3 (2007) | 2h 19m |
| The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) | 2h 16m |
| The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) | 2h 22m |
| Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) | 2h 13m |
| Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) | 2h 9m |
| Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) | 2h 28m |
| Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026) | 2h 30m |
The runtime is not so unlikely as Spider-Man: Brand New Day brings together an expansive roster of characters and storylines that demand significant screen time to service properly.
A 150-minute runtime is good news for fans on multiple fronts. More screen time means more satisfying fight sequences against Brand New Day’s stacked villain roster, deeper character development for a Peter Parker navigating adulthood completely alone, and greater breathing room for the film’s many confirmed cameos, from Punisher to Hulk, to land with real weight rather than feeling rushed.
What To Know More About Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Following the events of No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day finds Peter Parker in complete anonymity. Wiped from the memories of everyone he has ever known by Doctor Strange’s spell, he now supports himself and lives secretly. Peter Parker is committed to safeguarding New York City from the low-level crimes on the streets, while his superpowers begin to change in new and potentially dangerous ways. According to director Destin Daniel Cretton, Peter Parker is devoting his entire being to being Spider-Man, as reported by Empire.
While Tom Holland, speaking to ESB, mentioned that the movie is basically about identity and the price of selflessness as Parker grows from a boy to a man. He said,
It’s a movie about when young people really find their identity and become adults. Having been through that as a person, it really gave me a great insight into how to bring Peter Parker to life with this new chapter that he’s embarking on.
The film has a large star cast that is one of the largest for a single solo Spider-Man film. Zendaya stars in the film with Tom Holland, Ned Leeds starring as Jacob Batalon, and Jon Bernthal starring as Frank Castle/Punisher, who has a strained relationship with Peter Parker and begins a big brother/little brother rivalry.
Mark Ruffalo is returning as Bruce Banner, who is now a professor at Empire State University (ESU) and is assisting Peter Parker in mastering his superpowers.
Michael Mando is returning as Scorpion, with Marvin Jones III cast as crime Lord Tombstone, and Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Liza Coln-Zayas, and Keith David cast, but no word on their roles. The film was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and produced by Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios, and Pascal Pictures.
On another front, a report by Variety had revealed that Tom Holland had requested Sony Pictures to delay the start of the movie in order for him to shoot Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. Moreover, Amazon had announced that Amazon Prime Members in the US will be able to avail exclusive screening of the movie in theatres 2 days before the national release.
