Silent Hill 2 Remake: How To Find All Strange Photo Locations

The Silent Hill 2 remake has all kinds of collectibles to obtain throughout its duration. These collectibles include pieces for the various puzzles and other items that reveal the story behind the events in this strange town.

Throughout the Silent Hill 2 remake, players will encounter strange, blurry photos that lack clarity. Later in the game, these photos will matter, so it is important to collect them all.

This guide will show you how to find all of the strange photos in the game. These photos are numbered and will be useful once you have collected them all.

South Vale

Strange Photo 1 – “I’ve Been Happy”

To begin your search for these strange photos scattered throughout the game, you will need to explore the town and its various streets. There are a total of 26 strange photos to collect in Silent Hill 2.

One of the first is found in the display window of a shop on Neely Street, right where it converges with Sanders Street.

Strange Photo 2 – “So many people here!”

For the second photo, you’ll need to go to Katz Street, right where it crosses Harris Street. Around that area, there will be trash, and if you look closely at the ground, you’ll find the second photo.

Woodside Apartments

Strange Photo 3 – “Valentine’s Day”

Continuing the search for the strange photos, you should now head to the Woodside Apartments. Specifically, you need to go to the first floor of this apartment complex and head to room 102.

In that room, locate the third of the 26 available photos on a small table near the window on the opposite side of the door.

Strange Photo 4 – “Career’s humble beginnings”

Continuing to the second floor of the Woodside Apartments in Silent Hill 2, you’ll find the fourth photo in room 210. You can find the fourth photo in room 210, ready for pickup, on the paper-covered windows on the far left side.

BlueCreek Apartments

Strange Photo 5 – “Forever Together”

Heading to the BlueCreek Apartments after crossing the emergency exit in Woodside, on the first floor of this location, you will find the fifth strange photo.

The photo is located near room 103, but before ascending the stairs, you’ll find it lying on the floor to the left of the stairwell.

Strange Photo 6 – “How the time flies”

In the same apartment complex, on the second floor, specifically in room 212, you will find the sixth photo on the floor at one end of the room.

The West Side of South Vale

Strange Photo 7 – “So far from home”

Head toward Rosewater Park, where you will find the seventh photo to collect. You’ll need to go to the far left, where, past an abandoned food cart, you’ll find the seventh photo resting on a kind of concrete bench.

Strange Photo 8 – “Made it!”

You’ll need to use the nearby jack handle to open the closed garage just below Rosewater Park. Once you open the metal curtain of the garage, you’ll be able to crawl in.

Inside, you’ll find a variety of items to collect, and atop one of the toolboxes, you’ll discover the eighth photo.

Strange Photo 9 – “Ready to kill it!”

In this same area of the map, on the west side of South Vale, in the lower part of the map, you’ll find the adult entertainment bar Heaven’s Night. In the backstage area, specifically in the dressing rooms, you can explore the area and find one of the photos stuck to a mirror.

Strange Photo 10 – “Church entrance”

Continuing on the west side of South Vale, in Moonlight Grove, specifically in the lower right area, after walking along a small path filled with plants, you’ll find a wooden bench next to a fountain. The photo you need to take is situated on the wooden bench next to the fountain.

Strange Photo 11 – “Best flavour!”

Right next to the Moonlight Grove area, you’ll find the Revere Theater. One of the characters from Silent Hill 2 can be found inside one of the theater rooms. Additionally, a few rows behind this character, on the right side, is the eleventh of the 26 strange photos available.

Brookhaven Hospital

Strange Photo 12 – “Her drawings”

Moving to the Brookhaven Hospital, here you’ll find several photos to collect. Specifically, on the second floor of this hospital, in the upper right part of the map, you’ll find the observation room. In this room, on the left side, you’ll find the twelfth photo.

Strange Photo 13 – “At least she was there”

Heading down to the first floor of the Brookhaven Hospital in Silent Hill 2, in the examination rooms area, specifically in room one, you’ll find the thirteenth strange photo in a drawer.

Strange Photo 14 – “They mustn’t know”

In the same hospital, but now in its Otherworld version, you’ll find a new photo on the first floor, amidst the corroded areas. Specifically, in the shower area near the pool, there’s a new photo to collect.

Strange Photo 15 – “No one knows”

Head up to the second floor of this version of the hospital and proceed to section C5. In this room, you’ll find the intercom, and beyond that, there will be a bed with a piece of furniture to check. Inside the drawer of this piece of furniture, you’ll find the next photo.

Otherworld East Side South Vale

Strange Photo 16 – “They’re here”

The Otherworld version continues, now situated on the eastern side of South Vale. On Katz Street, almost at the corner of Neely, you’ll find a parked car. You’ll need to break the driver’s side window, and right there on the seat, you’ll find the sixteenth photo to collect.

Silent Hill Historical Society

Strange Photo 17 – “The new clock”

In the west side of South Vale, in the far upper left part of the map, you’ll find the Silent Hill Historical Society. In this specific place, there will be a single photo to obtain, and it will be inside one of the display cases at this location.

Toluca Prison

Strange Photo 18 – “Four months to go”

In Toluca Prison, specifically in the serpent section, you’ll find several cells to explore. In cell E13, after walking around this area, you’ll find the next photo to collect on the prisoner’s table.

Strange Photo 19 – “Old man’s always prepared”

Once you enter the boar section of Toluca Prison in Silent Hill 2, head to the warehouse area to collect the next photo. It will be resting on a desk in this area full of books and files.

Desolate Area

Strange Photo 20 – “Whole world ahead of us”

After accessing the flooded area, you’ll enter a strange part of Silent Hill 2. In this part, located in the lower right area of the map, you will encounter a circular zone where tentacles will attack you from the ground, and it will be infested with numerous insects.

A staircase in the middle of that zone leads to one of the game’s last strange photos. Once you climb the stairs, turn right, and cross a wall, you’ll find this photo.

Strange Photo 21 – “Your best buddy!”

Near the cube puzzle area, where you can literally change the access to different areas, in the far right part of the map, you’ll need to move the cube with the man’s face to access this new photo.

The cube must be moved so that the man’s face is in a normal position facing you. Once you do this, you can go down a staircase and start exploring this strange section of Silent Hill 2.

At the bottom, you’ll find the twenty-first photo out of the 26 available photos lying on the floor.

Strange Photo 22 – “Road trip!”

After finishing the final boss fight with Eddie, you’ll be able to exit into a much more normal, foggy area through a door.

Once you do this, you’ll need to head to the right, go down the stairs, and try to navigate the lower area, always staying close to the railing. After making a full turn on the right side, you’ll find this photo on the ground.

Lakeview Hotel

Strange Photo 23 – “Aftermath…”

Almost reaching the final part of Silent Hill 2 in the Lakeview Hotel, you’ll need to head to room 104 on the first floor. To the right of the bed, in the bedside table drawer, you’ll find the next photo to collect.

Strange Photo 24 – “Better leave…” 

The Lakeview Hotel’s basement houses a somewhat flooded minibar. Near the cash register at the bar, you’ll find the next photo, leaving only two more to collect in the entire game.

Strange Photo 25 – “Still can’t get it right”

The penultimate photo out of the 26 available in Silent Hill 2 can be found in room 302 on the third floor of the hotel.

After crawling through a hole in the floor, you’ll need to move a cart full of things. Once you’ve done this, you’ll gain access to the bathroom, where you’ll find this photo in the sink.

Strange Photo 26 – “Shape forces the mind”

Once you’ve defeated the two Pyramid Heads and navigated through Maria’s narrated hallway, you’ll reach an emergency stairwell from which you can exit either left or right.

To collect the last strange photo of Silent Hill 2, you’ll need to head to the right. You’ll find ammunition and other items, and if you continue exploring that area, you’ll acquire the last photo on the floor.
