1 Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott
A still from Scream | Credits: Woods EntertainmentWith the entire story revolving around her, Neve Campbell is the heart of the Scream franchise. Portraying the role of Sidney Prescott, the first film revolves around Ghostface chasing and hunting Sidney Prescott on his mother’s death anniversary.
It is later found out that the killings were orchestrated by her boyfriend and his friend. Setting the stage for the killings, Sidney Prescott has been the protagonist of the Scream franchise since the first film, all the way to upcoming Scream 7 (except Scream VI).

Courtney Cox in a still from Scream VI | Credits: Spyglass Media GroupMuch like Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, Courtney Cox has appeared in every Scream movie from the inception till Scream 7.
Portraying the role of news reporter Gale Weathers, Cox’s character arc centers on her redemption from a controversy-hungry news reporter to a human who saves people in dire situations instead of speaking into a microphone.
The trailer briefly showcases Cox’s character appearing alongside Sidney Prescott, and it is clear that she is here to help everyone.

David Arquette in a still from Scream 2 | Credits: Konrad PicturesThis one is the second-most-surprising actor to make a return. Portraying the role of Dewey Riley, Arquette was the ‘heart’ of the franchise, serving as a brave, loyal, and not-so-bright police officer throughout the franchise.

Matthew Lillard in Scream | Credit: Dimension Films Perhaps the most surprising cast member in the entirety of Scream 7 is Matthew Lillard as Stu Macher. Portraying the role of Sidney Prescott’s friend, Stu Macher is the co-Ghostface killer alongside Billy Loomis in the original 1996 movie, Scream.
However, his character is alleged to have died when Sidney pushes a television onto his head, electrocuting him. Over the years, fans have speculated that Matthew Lillard’s Stu Macher isn’t truly dead, and his return in Scream 7 all but confirms the theory.

- Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin (from Scream and Scream VI)
