RB Leipzig close to finalizing deal for Chelsea talent Marc Guiu

Since joining Chelsea in July 2024, Guiu has made just 11 appearances for the first team, prompting him to want a change of scenery.

As confirmed by both Sky Germany and Fabrizio Romano, Marc Guiu is set to leave Chelsea FC and join RB Leipzig.

Leipzig are already close to an agreement after secret talks were held with the player's representatives and the Blues.

The 20-year-old striker will travel to Saxony for his medical and will sign on a permanent deal with a sell-on clause included.

It's believed, based on the pay-TV channel's sources, that the striker will cost just under €20million and sign a contract until 2031.

Leipzig apparently wanted another runner for the Demichelis playing style, while the Spaniard's profile clearly fit that mould.

The Bundesliga club see him as a sprinter, counter-pressing forward, deep-lying runner, technically skilled with Barcelona roots. 

Despite missing important playing time during his recent development phase, Leipzig remain convinced in him for the medium- to long-term.
