Rangers' Ryan Naderi could make Czechia debut against Spain after turning down Germany

Having opted to represent Czechia over Germany, Rangers FC forward Ryan Naderi could make his senior international debut against Spain on Saturday.

Rangers FC striker Ryan Naderi has officially opted to represent Czechia rather than Germany.

The Czech Football Association announced on Tuesday that the 23-year-old would begin training with the squad on Wednesday.

“Ryan was very keen to represent Czechia, and we appreciate his decision. He is a very interesting player who can expand our options in attack, and we are looking forward to working with him,” said Czech national team general manager Pavel Nedvěd.

Naderi is the son of a Bulgarian father and Czech mother, but was born and grew up in Dresden. On his decision, he explained:

“I'm really excited about the opportunity to represent Czechia. I'm very much looking forward to joining the team and getting to know my new teammates and the entire coaching staff. It's an important step for me and a personal decision, as I have a very close relationship with Czechia through my mother. I will do everything I can to help us achieve success together."

The 23-year-old forward, who joined Rangers from Hansa Rostock in February, could make his Czechia debut against reigning world champions Spain on Saturday.
