"He can't help us!" – Dortmund sporting director rejected Sancho return

Sport Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund sporting director Ole Book made the final call not to pursue a move to bring Jadon Sancho back to the club this summer.

Available as a free agent, Jadon Sancho was linked with a third return to Borussia Dortmund during the summer, but a move ultimately didn't materialise.

According to Sport Bild, there was internal disagreement at the German club over whether bringing the 26-year-old back would be a good idea.

BVB sporting managing director Lars Ricken had his doubts, while some of his colleagues found the idea particularly appealing, especially with Sancho available on a free transfer.

Ultimately, the report claims, sporting director Ole Book took a close look at the English attacker and came to a clear conclusion: “He can’t help us!”

The decision apparently brought the matter to an end, with BVB opting not to pursue a move for Sancho.
