One of the headline features of Operation System Overdrive is the complete remaster of Dokkaebi. The attacker is receiving a brand-new, unique ability called Jegeo Payload, replacing her Logic Bomb. The new gadget allows Dokkaebi to remotely target enemy phones, causing them to explode, deal damage, create a fire hazard, and temporarily disrupt Observation Tools.
Alongside the rework, she also gains access to the new XK23 assault rifle, giving players another versatile weapon option. The season also introduces Ranked 3.0, one of the biggest competitive changes Siege has seen in years. Hidden MMR has been removed, meaning a player’s visible rank will now directly represent their skill level.
Placement matches are returning at the start of every season, while the Champion rank has been expanded into multiple divisions (Champion I, Champion II, Champion III, Champion IV, Champion V) to better separate the game’s elite players. Ubisoft has also revamped ranked rewards to make progression more rewarding throughout the season.
Another major addition is Calypso Casino, a brand-new map inspired by Rainbow Six: Vegas. Featuring rooftop access points, basement entry routes, and expanded drone pathways, the map has been built with vertical gameplay and competitive balance in mind. Calypso Casino will be available across multiple playlists, including Ranked, giving players a fresh battleground to master from day one.
Operation System Overdrive Could Reshape the Rainbow Six Siege Meta
A new season means a new meta. | Credits: UbisoftOperation System Overdrive isn’t just adding new content; it could significantly impact how Rainbow Six Siege is played. One of the biggest additions is official mouse and keyboard support for console players, with M&K users joining the PC cross-play pool. This marks a major change for the game’s console ecosystem.
The update also brings several operator buffs that could shake up team compositions. Gridlock’s stronger Trax Stingers improve her area denial, while Zofia’s speed increase makes her a more flexible pick. Nomad, Mozzie, Pulse, Solis, and Deimos are also receiving targeted improvements that could boost their popularity in ranked play.
Meanwhile, Emerald Plains and Outback are receiving visual and gameplay upgrades, helping keep older maps fresh. Combined with Dokkaebi’s remaster, Ranked 3.0, and the arrival of Calypso Casino, these changes have many players eager to see how the meta evolves once the season launches.
Whether these changes will redefine the meta remains to be seen, but Operation System Overdrive, releasing on June 2nd, is shaping up to be one of the most consequential Rainbow Six Siege updates in recent memory.
