The first expansion, called Bubbly Basin, as shown in the reveal trailer, appears to introduce a brand-new underwater town for players to unlock and customize. It also brings a variety of ocean-themed furniture, outfits, and new Pokémon, including Corphish, Popplio, and Mudkip, for players to befriend.

As for the second and third parts of the DLC, Nintendo has confirmed that one will introduce additional gameplay features, while the other will add another town for players to explore. Pricing details for the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass have not been shared yet, but preorders are expected to go live on the Nintendo eShop on June 9, 2026. Saving up for all the big games arriving in 2026 and don’t want to spend extra on the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC? Well, Nintendo has some good news for you. Alongside the DLC, the game is also receiving a major free update in August 2026.

The highlight of this update is the brand-new Dive ability. Once it is unlocked, players will be able to explore the ocean depths, live underwater, plant seagrass, construct buildings, create entire towns, and much more. To obtain the Dive ability, players must complete the “Raise the Environmental Level” request in Bleak Beach, then unlock the Jump ability and learn the move “Surf.”

With both the Expansion Pass DLC and this free update arriving together, Pokémon Pokopia looks set to offer players hundreds of additional hours of content. The addition of underwater exploration, town-building, and the ability to bond with Pokémon beneath the sea certainly enhances the experience.
