It’s time to gear up, Trainers. Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global is set to run from July 11 to July 12, 2026. This year’s event is one you can’t miss, as it marks the 10th anniversary of the beloved monster-catching game and brings Mega Mewtwo to Pokémon GO for the very first time.

But that’s just the beginning. Trainers can also look forward to Zeraora, exclusive five-star raids, shiny boosts, special Egg encounters, and many more surprises. So, if you’re excited, here’s a complete breakdown of everything to expect from Pokémon GO Fest 2026.

Pokémon Go Fest 2026: Global Release Date & Time

As we’ve already mentioned, Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global will take place from July 11 to July 12, 2026, running each day from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM local time. There is no single global start time for the event, as it will go live according to each player’s local time zone and region.

What makes this year’s schedule even more special is that it includes extended playtime to celebrate Pokémon GO’s 10th anniversary. Typically, events like these end at 6:00 PM local time, but Scopely has added an extra hour of gameplay for the occasion.

All Pokémon Go Fest 2026 Events

For the first time in the game’s history, Pokémon GO Fest 2026 will be completely free for all players. This means that all Special Research, additional bonuses, and increased shiny odds will be available to every Trainer, with no ticket required to access them. As long as you play during the event weekend, you’ll receive all of the bonuses.

With that said, let’s take a complete look at everything happening during the event.

Mewtwo Mega Evolution Debut

The major highlight of Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global is the debut of Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y in the game. These are temporary forms of regular Mewtwo that, once activated, make it one of the most powerful Pokémon in the entire game.

Mega Mewtwo Y, in particular, is especially worth pursuing, as it reaches a maximum Combat Power of 7,267, the highest in the game, and stands as the strongest Psychic-type Pokémon.

Players will need to participate in raids to collect Mega Mewtwo Energy, and at the end of each raid, they’ll also receive a Shiny-eligible Mewtwo encounter. Any successful Super Mega Battle may reward you with a Mewtwo that is already at Mega Level 2 or 3.

Zerarora Debut

Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global will also feature the long-awaited debut of Zeraora, the powerful Electric-type Mythical Pokémon, through a Special Research story. All players who log in during the event period will receive access to this research, and by completing its various challenges, Trainers will earn an encounter with the Pokémon.

Wild & Incense Encounters

It wouldn’t be a Pokémon GO Fest without some costume encounters. During the event, players will be able to encounter three different costumed Pikachu, including:

• Pikachu with Team Instinct Hat
• Pikachu with Team Mystic Hat
• Pikachu with Team Valor Hat

In addition, the event brings back the fan-favorite hourly rotating habitats. For those unfamiliar, each hour of the event features a different themed habitat, causing specific Pokémon to appear more frequently. Across the entire weekend, players will be able to encounter all 18 Pokémon types.
