Pirates fan goes viral after being caught getting handsy with woman on live TV during game

A pair of fans attending Thursday afternoon’s game between the Pirates and Nationals has gone viral after the man appeared to get a bit frisky with his female friend during extra innings.

As Pittsburgh’s Jake Mangum came to the plate during the bottom of the 10th inning, the broadcast caught the two fans in an intimate moment, which was clipped and shared on social media.

As Mangum stepped out of the box between pitches in the foreground of the shot, the male fan could be seen reaching over and grabbing the female fan’s left breast. He then shook it around for a bit as they both laughed until she smiled and appeared to tell him to stop.

What did fans say about the incident?

As the clip went viral, many fans on social media were quick to joke about the incident, with many referring to the fact that it was a Dollar Dog Game at PNC Park.

“Dollar hot dogs got the fans in a bit of a frenzy at the ballpark today,” one fan wrote.

“Dude wanted breasts instead of wieners,” another replied.

One fan referenced an old video of Cuban closer Aroldis Chapman, who was seen grabbing and squeezing the breast of an older woman while lying on a couch in an Instagram Story in 2024.

Others kept their quips baseball-related, with one noting “The fan advanced into scoring position.”

Another replied, “I think that’s the signal for a squeeze bunt.”

What happened in the game?

While what happened in the stands behind him turned out to be memorable, Mangum likely will want to forget that at-bat.

The outfielder would go on to hit into a game-ending double play, sealing a 9-8 victory for the visiting Nationals.

With the loss, Pittsburgh fell to 11-8 on the season but still sits in a tie atop the NL Central with the Cincinnati Reds.

Has this sort of thing happened before?

This isn’t the first indecent incident to be caught on camera at an MLB ballpark.

While there is no one in the rows directly in front or behind the couple, they are in clear sight of dozens of fellow spectators at the game.

In the clip, the man and woman keep their eyes forward while each has a hand in her lap while she begins to squirm in her seat in the upper deck.
