Pedro Pascal is one of the most versatile actors in the industry with his appearance in many notable IPs, from Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian, and The Last of Us. Recently, the actor has become a conversation topic among netizens who strongly believe that Pascal should play the late WWE legend, Eddie Guerrero.

Eddie Guerrero was a renowned name in the wrestling fraternity. He entered the WWE (formerly WWF) in the Attitude Era and shared some memorable rivalries with Rey Mysterio, Brock Lesnar, and John Cena. While it seems like Pedro Pascal can be the perfect choice to play Guerrero in a biopic or documentary, his age can be a significant problem.

Playing Eddie Guerrero will not be a cakewalk for Pedro Pascal

The world of WWE was shocked to hear the untimely demise of Eddie Guerrero at the young age of 38 in 2005. Popular for his “Lie, Cheat, and Steal” persona, his charisma and moves in the ring captivated the wrestling fans. Pedro Pascal‘s magnificent screen presence and resemblance to the late icon forced many fans to vote for him as the right choice to play the role.

In a recent Instagram post, many fans came forward to demand a documentary on Eddie Guerrero starring Pedro Pascal. They claimed that the Prospect actor’s dedication to his roles and acting skills can give us one of the best projects in wrestling. However, another section of fans also pointed out that the age factor and other physical limitations can present big obstacles.

As a user KC Pelletier rightfully pointed out, the actor is currently 11 years older than Eddie Guerrero was when he passed away. Given, that the 49-year-old must go through an extraordinary physical transformation for the role, the age factor can be a significant problem.

Such a project would also demand some well-designed wrestling sequences. However, it must be acknowledged that Eddie Guerrero’s moves weren’t easy. He had some iconic moves like Frog Splash, Three Amigos suplex combo, and Lasso from El Paso. While Pedro Pascal can still do justice to the personal story of the Latino Heat, it is insanely difficult to mimic the late legend’s athleticism at this age.

Despite all the big problems, a certain section still believes that casting Pedro Pascal as Guerrero can give us one of the greatest wrestling projects ever. Nonetheless, the physical limitations must be acknowledged as such a project may raise immense controversy if the authenticity is compromised to cast a fan-favorite star.

Paul Mescal described Pedro Pascal as a beast in Gladiator II

One of the most anticipated upcoming films of this year is Gladiator II. Ridley Scott has returned with a fresh cast to helm his critically acclaimed film released in 2000. The sequel stars Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, and Joseph Quinn in the lead.

As the film is set for a November release, the stars have been witnessed in several interviews talking about the film. Recently when Paul Mescal had a chat with Empire, he described Pedro Pascal’s physical prowess as beastly.

I think I’d win in a fight between me and Pedro, but he’s deceptive. Pedro is one of the funniest men that I know, but he could f-ck sh-t up. Like, absolutely categorically. There’s a beast in there for sure.

Similarly, Pedro Pascal has also praised Paul Mescal in a previous interview where he described the latter as “Brick Wall Paul“. The comments have raised intense hype among fans who expect to see some memorable fight sequences between the stars. Additionally, it also seems like the Game of Thrones fans can finally get over Pascal’s Oberyn Martell’s dreadful fate during a Gladiator-esque battle against the Mountain.

Gladiator II is set to hit the theaters on November 22, 2024.
