SUMMARY

  • Oda has a hostory of faking the deaths of many character, Kaido could be the same.
  • Luffy has never believed in killing even the most evil of his opponents.
  • Kaido was fine after jumping off the Sky Island, a pit of lava wouldn't be able to kill him.

The creator of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, is a master storyteller. He has crafted a ginormous world and the Pirate seas that are filled with hopefuls looking for the legendary treasure, the ‘One Piece.’

Oda has often been called a genius for his ability to create characters and settings, but perhaps one of his habits is his unwillingness to kill off well-crafted characters. He usually tries to spring them back into action when the fans least expect it.

One such character that is known to be dead is Kaido, one of the Emperors in the One Piece world. Kaido was introduced as an almost indestructible being but was later defeated by Luffy and met his end in a pit of lava- or so Oda wants his audience to believe.

Did Kaido survive Luffy’s attack in One Piece?

One Piece fans were in shock after Luffy’s hard-fought victory over Kaido. In this battle, Luffy revealed his powerful Bajrang Gun attack, apparently defeating Kaido.

However, Eiichiro Oda provides no clear details about Kaido’s condition following this defeat and plummeting into the lava.

It raises the possibility that Kaido may have, in fact, survived. After all, Kaido had expressed a desire to meet a grand and spectacular end.

It seems that Kaido may not have displayed explicit signs of death after falling into the lava while unconscious. This makes sense, as his battle-hungry nature wouldn’t allow him to escape silently.

Kaido was nigh invincible; mere lava wouldn’t be enough to kill him

At the same time, some fans are also speculating that he may have been fine and would have recovered after his apparent demise. If that is the case, it is possible that Kaido could still be alive and may return in the current Elbaf arc.

It is also a fact that Luffy doesn’t believe in killing anyone. He believes that they should be caught and defeated (lose their hopes and dreams), he believes that would be the worst punishment for the hard-hearted pirates and adventures who dance with death on a daily basis.

So, it is very strange that after using all of his powers, Luffy manages to defeat and kill Kaido. Kaido is not an innately evil character; he lies somewhere in the gray areas. He has a complex past and is a warrior through and through. He has tried to end his life in a hundred different ways, and it never worked.

Fans speculate that due to Luffy’s unwillingness to have blood on his hands and the fact that Kaido would have definitely considered burning to death in a pit of lava on his island to be among the hundred ways.

This is especially true if he could survive a jump off the Sky Island; the bubbling lava might not be enough to claim his life.
