One Piece’s Devil Fruits Reimagined on Three Air Max Plus Pairs

Nike confirmed the collection is built around three Devil Fruits: the Gomu Gomu no Mi (which is secretly one of the strongest Devil Fruits), the Mera Mera no Mi (the fire fruit used by Ace and Sabo), and the Ope Ope no Mi (Trafalgar Law’s fruit).

Nike’s Nick Remlinger said the team wanted to capture and use that idea to reimagine the Air Max Plus in a totally new way.

Each shoe gets a completely retooled upper made just for this collab (as per the official press release by Nike), so do not expect a mere color change for the collab. The Gomu Gomu no Mi shoe has the same curly 3D pattern as the fruit itself, and the laces are green, which makes it instantly recognizable. Both Ope Ope no Mi and Mera Mera no Mi shoes also have unique textures corresponding to the Devil Fruits they are inspired by.

Release Dates, Regional Exclusives, and Where to Buy

The release timeline is not limited to a single day, so use the following information accordingly. As per Nike’s SNKRS launch page, the Gomu Gomu Air Max Plus goes live globally on September 25, 2026, through SNKRS Pre-Order (US, Japan, parts of Europe), a standard launch (China, Mexico, Australia), and Exclusive Access (Korea).

The Ope Ope Air Max Plus, on the other hand, is a September 19 drop, but only through select retailers in the US and Europe. The Mera Mera Air Max Plus is even more exclusive: it launches September 12 at select shops across Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Mexico.

Australia gets it much later, from October 16–18. The full collection, including apparel, becomes available everywhere on SNKRS September 25.

Further good news! It is not just the sneakers that are going to be available with this collab. Nike’s press release also confirms jerseys, caps, T-shirts, and a vest as part of the collection. The Nike logo on the tees has the same pattern as the Devil Fruit, which makes it a subtle reference that only your fellow One Piece fans will get. There is even a T-shirt with the original Straw Hat symbol that Luffy drew, the messy one.

As for why the Air Max Plus specifically got picked: the shoe’s signature wavy TPU ribs already resemble the swirled texture of a Devil Fruit’s skin, making it a natural fit for this kind of transformation.
