The One Piece world is filled with Devil Fruits, and none of them are more contradictory and variant than the Hito Hito no Mi, also known as the Human-Human Fruit. From a simple fruit that transforms a creature into a human to a literal god transformation, the Devil Fruit is one of the most unique of its kind.

With that being said, let’s jump right into the list and explore the options. Here are all the Hito Hito no Mi users from the One Piece series so far (as the manga and anime are still ongoing), ranked by power.

5 Onimaru, Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Onyudo – Wano’s Sleeper Yokai

Onimaru’s fruit lets him transform into an onyudo, a giant monk-shaped yokai from Japanese folklore, and like every Zoan-type Hito Hito no Mi variant, it grants him full human speech and reasoning. For years he hid as the warrior monk Gyukimaru, loyally guarding the graves of Ringo and collecting weapons for the future rebellion following the death of his master, Shimotsuki Ushimaru.

His Onyudo form clashed with Zoro at Oihagi Bridge before the raid on Onigashima, fiercely guarding the legendary sword Shusui. Structurally, his fruit mirrors Chopper’s, but his gigantic frame favors size over finesse. He’s ranked last simply because his fruit spent most of Wano hidden behind a disguise, only showing itself late in the arc.

4 Tony Tony Chopper, Hito Hito no Mi – The Reindeer Turned Doctor

Tony Tony Chopper‘s fruit is the plain, unmodified Hito Hito no Mi, no special model attached, and it turned an ordinary reindeer into a walking, talking crewmate capable of real medicine. Its true gift isn’t raw destruction but versatility, letting him shift between eight forms, from tiny Brain Point up to towering Monster Point, made possible by his own invention, the Rumble Ball.

He’s also the first known Devil Fruit user confirmed to boost his own powers artificially through a drug he engineered, a detail Oda has pointed out more than once. He lands in the fourth spot because his fruit’s real strength is adaptability and medicine, not head-on destructive power.

3 Sengoku, Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu – Marine’s Golden Buddha

Sengoku‘s fruit turns him into a colossal golden daibutsu, the classic giant seated Buddha statue, and the size jump comes with a matching strength boost that lets the former fleet admiral trade blows with Whitebeard’s own commanders during the Marineford war.

In this form, his arms swell far past his legs, and he can fire shockwave palm thrusts strong enough to clash evenly with one of Blackbeard’s own attacks. It was the last new Zoan fruit revealed before the timeskip. He ranks above Chopper and Onimaru because his fruit was purpose-built for large-scale war, and the Marineford Arc is proof of it.

2 Monkey D. Luffy, Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika – Wano’s True Sun God

Monkey D. Luffy spent most of the series believing he’d eaten a simple Paramecia called the Gomu Gomu no Mi, only for Wano to reveal he’d actually swallowed the mythical Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika as a kid, thanks to Shanks’s crew.

That single battle proved him to be the strongest living user of this fruit in the story. He’s second only because Joy Boy’s myth is the reason Gear 5 hits as hard as it does – the sequel is great, but the original still owns the room.

1 Joy Boy, Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika – The First Sun God of Legend

Long before Luffy, the mysterious figure known as Joy Boy carried this same mythical fruit roughly 900 years ago, during the Void Century the World Government has spent centuries erasing from every record. As the original Sun God Nika, he’s remembered by the people of Elbaf and beyond as the Warrior of Liberation, a figure who spread laughter and freed the enslaved wherever he went.

Almost nothing about his actual battles survives on the page, since Eiichiro Oda keeps him wrapped in legend rather than showing him in action. He’s first because his legend is the one thing in this entire story that still makes Imu flinch, and that’s a scarier resume line than any fight scene.
