Brand New Day Box Office Record: Tom Holland Annihilates RDJ, Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Evans

Tom Holland is having the biggest moment of his career, and the numbers are getting hard to keep up with. Spider-Man: Brand New Day raced past $1 billion worldwide in just six days, making it the second-fastest film in history to reach the milestone. Only Avengers: Endgame got there quicker, and only by a single day.

That puts Holland’s fourth solo outing above Avengers: Infinity War, Ne Zha 2, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens on the all-time speed chart. It also means Holland now owns two of the six fastest billion-dollar movies ever made, because Spider-Man: No Way Home still sits comfortably at No. 6. Here is how the top of that list looks right now:

Four of those six are Marvel movies. Two of them belong to Holland, and they are notably his solo Spider-Man outings as opposed to the two Avengers ensembles in the list.

Here is the part that stings for the original Avengers. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth headlined 10 solo MCU movies between them, and not one of those films cracked the top five fastest to $1 billion. Meanwhile, Tom Holland has two movies in the top six.

Downey Jr.’s only solo billion-dollar movie is Iron Man 3, which took 24 days to get there (via The Guardian). Evans managed it once too, with Captain America: Civil War needing the same 24 days for the feat (via The Hollywood Reporter). It should be noted that Civil War was still an ensemble, even though it was Evans’ character name in the title.

Hemsworth never cracked the billion-dollar box office with any of his four solo outings. Thor: Ragnarok remains his highest-grossing Thor movie, earning $855 million.

The lifetime totals tell the same story. Downey Jr.’s three Iron Man movies made roughly $2.43 billion combined (via Box Office Mojo). Evans’ three titular Captain America films sit at about $2.24 billion. Hemsworth’s four Thor movies come to roughly $2.71 billion, which is the best of the three.

Holland’s four solo Spider-Man films? Around $5.6 billion, and Brand New Day is nowhere near finished. He has already doubled the best of the original trio.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Continues Its Impressive Box Office Run

Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s box office run has not slowed down. According to Deadline, Destin Daniel Cretton’s film has now pulled off the same trick overseas, clearing $1 billion at the international box office in 12 days. Again, only Endgame has ever moved faster.

It is the 16th film in history to reach 10 figures outside North America. Worldwide, the total stands at $1.67 billion, split between $655 million domestic and $1.01 billion abroad (via Box Office Mojo, as of August 10, 2026). That number has already placed the movie 12th on the all-time chart, and that domestic figure is the biggest 10-day haul any movie has ever posted.

Its second weekend held at $145 million in the domestic box office, becoming the third best second weekend number and one of only eight $100 million-plus second weekends in history. Across 67 markets and more than 72,800 screens, it topped the chart almost everywhere, with the exception of Korea and Japan. China stayed the strongest overseas market, with the total number at $186.7 million.
