Having seen every adventure together and grown up with each other, Sam and Dean are so close that some fans have even misinterpreted their bond. What made fans even more interested in the series is the fact that Ackles and Padalecki share a similar relationship in real life.

A Supernatural Bond

It has become a well-known fact among the Supernatural fanbase that the cast of the series is very close in real life. In the early seasons, when it was only Sam and Dean, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki grew to become each other’s best friends. So much so, that they were even living together in Vancouver during the early seasons.

Later in the show, when Misha Collins and Mark Shepard entered the series as Castiel and Crowley, they were also added to this dynamic. Be it behind-the-scenes bloopers, or their conversations at conventions, it is very obvious that the cast members are extremely close.

Additionally, they frequently post about each other, showcasing that even though they work together, they hang out on their own quite often. While a few of the members have had some very public disagreements, there is no denying that the bond they created across fifteen seasons has turned into a lifelong one.

The connection that Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have has stayed very sincere in the years since the first episode of the series went into production. However, it would seem that the bond has existed since their first meeting. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Padalecki revealed what his first meeting with Ackles was like.

He confessed that when he first interacted with the Dean Winchester actor, he immediately felt as though he was like his other close friends. He also added that Ackles felt the same way about him, having a sudden connection when they barely knew each other.

It was like immediately, ‘Oh I’ve got best friends that are exactly like you!’ and vice versa so good job, Network, on pairing us up together.

Making a small nod to the CW network for helping them meet, it is safe to say that the casting directors of the series were onto something when they decided to put the two together.
