After several rounds of negotiations, Bayern Munich finally announced on Thursday that Harry Kane had signed a new contract running until 2029.
According to Sky Germany and AZ, Kane will earn a club-record salary, surpassing his previous €25 million per year.
The new deal is the most lucrative in Bayern's history, with sources telling The Athletic's David Ornstein that the 33-year-old is now the highest-paid player in European football in terms of guaranteed salary, although some players are thought to be able to earn more overall when bonuses are included.
Ornstein also reports that, despite Kane now being 33, Bayern don't see this as his final contract with the club.
According to AZ, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen held eight rounds of negotiations with the striker's father and brother before finally getting the deal over the line.
Kane and his representatives reportedly wanted a contract until 2030, or at least an option to extend the deal until then. However, according to AZ, the final agreement doesn't include such an option.
In return, Bayern made concessions to the striker in other areas, including his salary and image rights.
