Borussia Dortmund were delighted to secure a 2-1 victory over Real Betis in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

However, Serhou Guirassy’s first-half injury was a concern for head coach Niko Kovac and his team.

“I spoke to him briefly,” Kovac said after the match, providing an update on Guirassy.

“He felt something in his thigh. Hopefully, nothing is damaged. We’ll have to see what’s going on and whether it’s more than a strain, which I don’t actually think it is,” the BVB coach continued.

Dortmund sporting director Ole Book offered a similar assessment

“It’s a muscular injury. However, he was still running around fairly normally, so I’m hopeful that it’s nothing serious.”

Guirassy is now a major doubt for Borussia Dortmund’s final match before the international break, against SV Elversberg on Saturday.
