Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt: Best Effects to Roll on Every Gear Piece

1 day ago 13

Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt gives you plenty of ways to make your hero stronger, but few decisions matter as much as the build you choose and the Effects on your gear that bring it all together.

Thanks to the addition of gear refining and enhancing, you no longer have to settle for whatever random rolls you get. The challenge, now, is knowing which Effects are actually worth investing in, and these are the ones we’d recommend for every gear piece.

Best Extended Effects for Offensive Gear in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt

We’re not talking about each gear piece’s unique Base Effect here, but the Extended Effects you can reroll through Gear Refining (and upgrade via Gear Enhancement). Every gear slot has its own pool of possible Effects, so, for instance, a Weapon won’t be able to roll Maximum Health, just as an Armor piece can’t roll Critical Damage.

That said, when it comes to your offensive gear, namely, Weapon, Accessory, and Exclusive, the goal is simple: roll as much extra damage as you can. Below are the Effects we’d prioritize on each gear piece.

Weapon

Your Weapon should be refined almost entirely around increasing your damage output. These are the Effects we’d prioritize for each Extended Effect slot:

  • Slot 1: Total Damage Bonus > Total Output Boost
  • Slot 2: Critical Hit Rate/Critical Hit Damage > Trait-specific Enhancement
  • Slot 3: Critical Hit Rate/Critical Hit Damage/Precision Damage
  • Slot 4: Critical Hit Rate/Precision Rate
  • Slot 5: Trait-specific Effect > Total Output Boost

Ideally, a “god-rolled” Weapon should have:

  • At least one Critical Hit Rate or Precision Rate roll.
  • The matching Critical Hit Damage or Precision Damage Effect, depending on your overall build.
  • One Total Damage Bonus or Total Output Boost roll.
  • A Trait-specific Effect that complements your build, preferably in Slot 5. For example, the popular AFK Thor build greatly benefits from the “High Voltage Field Enhancement”, making it a much stronger pick than another generic damage roll.

Accessory

Unlike your Weapon, an Accessory can also roll defensive Effects like Maximum Health. While those have their place, you’ll generally get far more value by continuing to prioritize offensive stats.

  • Slot 1: Total Output Boost
  • Slot 2: Critical Hit Rate/Critical Hit Damage/Precision Damage
  • Slot 3: Critical Hit Rate/Critical Hit Damage/Precision Damage
  • Slot 4: Total Damage Bonus/Total Output Boost > Critical Hit Rate/Precision Rate > Critical Hit Damage/Precision Damage
  • Slot 5: Trait-specific Enhancement

Of course, rather than chasing the same roll on every gear, the thumb rule here is to look at your overall hero stats before deciding which gear to keep and which ones to smelt. The goal is to balance Total Damage Bonus, Total Output Boost, and your Critical or Precision stats.

In general, for Critical builds, try to hit the 60% Critical Hit Rate mark before stacking as many Critical Hit Damage rolls as possible. For Precision builds, aim for at least 15% Precision Rate, then invest the rest into Precision Damage or whichever offensive stat your build is still lacking.

Exclusive

Your Exclusive gear is where your build really starts to come together. Since three of its five Extended Effect slots (for Legendary-rarity) can roll Trait-specific Enhancements, this is the piece you should be looking at first if you’re trying to maximize the potential of a particular build.

  • Slot 1: Total Output Boost
  • Slot 2: Critical Hit Rate > Critical Hit Damage > Precision Damage
  • Slot 3: Trait-specific Enhancement
  • Slot 4: Trait-specific Enhancement
  • Slot 5: Trait-specific Enhancement

Unlike your Weapon or Accessory, there’s little reason to chase generic damage rolls wherever possible on an Exclusive piece. Instead, prioritize Trait-specific Enhancements that directly strengthen the build you’ve committed to, then round it out with Total Output Boost and the Critical or Precision stats your hero still needs.

Best Extended Effects for Defensive Gear (Armor) in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt

Armor is much more straightforward than the other three gear pieces. Since every Extended Effect it can roll is defensive in nature, there’s very little reason to deviate from the same priorities regardless of which hero you’re playing.

  • Slot 1: Health (Flat) > Armor
  • Slot 2: Health Restored Upon Defeating an Enemy
  • Slot 3: Health (Flat) > Armor
  • Slot 4: Health (Percentage)
  • Slot 5: Healing Rune Charges > Healing Rune Cooldown

A “god-rolled” Armor should ideally have two Flat Health rolls, one Health Percentage roll, and then either Healing Rune Charges or Healing Rune Cooldown. You’ll still get one-shot by plenty of attacks in the highest Nightmare levels, but these Effects give you the best chance of surviving everything else.

That wraps up our slot-by-slot picks for the best Effects to roll on every gear piece in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt. If you’ve found another combination that’s been working well for your build, feel free to let us know in the comments below!
