Beast of Reincarnation, Game Freak’s first AAA project outside the Pokémon franchise, is almost here, and the countdown to launch has officially begun. Set in a post-apocalyptic version of Japan, the game follows Emma and her companion Koo as they journey through a corrupted world, and anticipation has only grown as the release date has crept closer.

Beast of Reincarnation unlocks worldwide on August 4, 2026, but because of how the simultaneous global release works, players in different time zones won’t all be pressing start at the same local hour.

The game unlocks at 12:00 AM UTC on August 4, 2026, across PS5, Xbox Series X/ S, and PC. This is a single simultaneous release rather than a varying midnight release-by-region rollout, which is why some storefronts list the launch as August 3 while others show August 4; it’s the same exact moment worldwide.

Beast of Reincarnation launches on PS5, Xbox Series X/ S, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store, with day-one availability on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Steam preloads are already active for anyone who has pre-ordered, and the install takes up roughly 45GB. Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, no Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 version has been confirmed.

There’s also no early access period to worry about. Both the Standard Edition, worth $59.99, and the Digital Deluxe Edition, worth $69.99, unlock at the same time, so upgrading won’t get anyone in sooner. The Deluxe Edition instead adds bonus Amber currency, exclusive cosmetics for Emma and Koo, and a set of vegetable seedling items.
