Season 9 has already been one of the biggest Marvel Rivals updates so far. Jubilee’s arrival, the complete Team-Up overhaul, Gear progression for the PvE Blood Hunt game mode, and a steady stream of new content have given players plenty to dig into over the past few weeks.
But now, the community’s attention is all set to shift toward the mid-season update. Marvel Rivals Season 9.5 is just around the corner, and NetEase’s marketing campaign is expected to kick into gear any day now with our first proper look at The Hood and everything else arriving alongside him. Here’s when the update is expected to go live and everything you can look forward to.

The update marks the end of Season 9, as outlined in the current roadmap.
That’s also when server maintenance is expected to begin. NetEase has consistently scheduled around two hours of downtime for major seasonal updates, meaning you should be able to jump into Season 9.5 at roughly 11:00 AM UTC, assuming maintenance finishes on schedule.

What to Expect in Marvel Rivals Season 9.5
The Hood, as seen in the new Thebes map. | Credits: NetEase GamesWith August 7 fast approaching, NetEase should begin unveiling Season 9.5 in earnest over the next few days. If previous updates are anything to go by, expect a character reveal trailer, a new Dev Vision episode, previews of upcoming cosmetics and events, and a closer look at the balance changes arriving with the patch.
The biggest attraction, of course, is The Hood. Parker Robbins has already appeared throughout Season 9’s ongoing Death of Apocalypse storyline, with one of his official quotes revealing that the primordial cosmic entity Oblivion granted him his supernatural powers and imbued his handguns with rounds capable of “obliterating everything in their path.” He’s also seen as an NPC inside a prison cell in the attackers’ spawn room on Thebes, while his in-game avatar confirms he’ll be wielding a pair of revolver-style handguns.
While NetEase has yet to officially reveal his role or abilities, one of the Marvel Rivals community’s most reliable dataminers, X0XLEAK, recently reiterated that The Hood remains classified as a Vanguard (Tank) hero ahead of Season 9.5:

— X0XLEAK (@X0X_LEAK) July 8, 2026Beyond its newest hero, Season 9.5 is expected to introduce the usual mid-season balance changes, new cosmetics, limited-time events, and fresh store offerings. We should also get the official Season 9.5 roadmap, outlining everything players can look forward to before Season 10 arrives.
