A 28-year-old man has been identified as a suspect in a fatal stabbing Tuesday in Mississauga.

Police said, at approximately 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to reports of a stabbing near Hurontario and Agnes Sts., one block north of Dundas St. W.
The victim and suspect became involved in a physical altercation in a nearby parking lot, during which the victim was stabbed, cops said.
The victim, who was identified as Chay Wilson, a 32-year-old man from Mississauga, died at the scene.
Detectives from the Homicide Bureau named Jerome Edwards, of no fixed address, as the suspect in Wilson’s death.

“Investigators are urging Edwards to seek legal counsel and surrender to police,” police said in a statement. “They also remind the public that anyone found harbouring or assisting the suspect may be arrested and charged.”

Edwards is described as Black with a medium build, short black hair and a black goatee. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black zipped style jacket, fluorescent green pants, yellow timberland style boots and was wearing a black watch on his right wrist.
Police said the suspect is known to frequent the Hurontario and Dundas Sts. area.
The public is advised not to approach the suspect and dial 911 as he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Investigators ask anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 3205, or leave an anonymous tip by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
