A 45-year-old Toronto man is facing charges in a suspected hate-motivated mischief probe after a church was damaged multiple times in North York.

Toronto Police said that the accused attended a church in the Don Mills Rd.-Fairview Mall Dr. area multiple times between Aug. 6, 2025, and May 5. On each occasion, police alleged, the accused damaged the outer glass doors of the church before fleeing.

On May 5, Sohrab Mehmandoust was arrested and charged with four counts of mischief related to religious property.
“This investigation is being treated as a suspected hate-motivated offence,” police said in a news release issued on Monday.

Police are looking for information after a motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Scarborough on Sunday night.
Toronto Police responded at 6:08 p.m. to a call for a personal injury collision in the Orton Park-Ellesmere Rd. area.

It’s reported that a 45-year-old man was operating a black Honda motorcycle northbound on Orton Park, north of Botany Hill Rd.
A 47-year-old man was operating a grey Toyota RAV4 SUV and was also travelling northbound on Orton Park when the motorcycle collided with the SUV and struck a tree.
Life-saving measures were performed, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and was not injured.
