Ottawa police are asking for the public’s help as they attempt to identify a suspect after two women were assaulted in February.

At about 1:05 p.m. on Feb. 2, two elderly women were walking in the 2200 block of Riverside Drive when they were approached by an individual, the Ottawa Police Service stated in a news release May 11. Both women — one of them using a walker — were assaulted before the person left the scene on foot, police said. One woman suffered minor injuries.

The suspect was described as a white man, 20 to 25 years old, with a thin build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing sunglasses, a dark tuque, a blue and green jacket, dark pants and mismatched shoes, one black and one white, police said.
