“Police received reports of a newer-model, dark blue Mazda 3 sedan repeatedly attending the area of Longfields Drive and Calaveras Avenue between approximately 10 p.m. and 1 a.m.,” an Ottawa Police Service news release stated. “The vehicle was observed driving through the neighbourhood or parking on different streets. The driver, described as an older white male, was also seen walking in the area.”

In the Wednesday, Aug. 26, news release, police said they were able to identify the individual who was being targeted, and the 72-year-old was arrested on Aug. 19 and charged with criminal harassment — watching and besetting; and mischief — interfering with the lawful enjoyment of property.

The man’s name was not released in order to protect the identity of the victim, police said.
