Conor McGregor‘s long-awaited UFC return ended in heartbreak Saturday night, but it wasn’t long before Logan Paul found himself at the center of a controversy stemming from the former champion’s devastating loss.
The social media star and WWE performer posted a video reacting to McGregor’s UFC 329 defeat in real time, mocking the Irish fighter’s performance and even challenging him to a boxing match moments after the bout came to an abrupt end. Instead of applauding Logan Paul’s comments, however, many fans quickly turned their attention toward him.
Logan Paul Celebrates McGregor Loss And Issues Boxing Challenge

Shortly afterward, Paul shared a video on Instagram celebrating a successful sports bet while taking aim at McGregor.
“Easiest money of my life, dog. This is embarrassing. He looks slow, he looks lazy. Oh my God, this is embarrassing,” Paul said while showing his betting app.
The YouTuber-turned-wrestler then revealed he had won $30,000 on the fight and used the moment to issue a challenge to the former UFC champion. “Pathetic. I have nothing nice to say other than I won $30K,” Paul added. “When you’re done with whatever this is, Conor, we should box, bro. You might have a better chance.”
Fans Accuse Logan Paul Of Mocking An Injured Fighter
While Paul appeared eager to capitalize on McGregor’s disappointing return, many fans weren’t impressed.
The comment section quickly filled with criticism from followers who felt Paul was celebrating an athlete’s misfortune rather than a legitimate victory. “Pretty weird making these videos after a guy just blew his ACL,” one commenter wrote.
Others pointed out the irony of Paul criticizing another athlete while recovering from his own injury. “Actively dealing with an injury yourself cheering on another person’s injury is wild work bro. Can’t defend you on this one dawg,” another fan commented.
Several users also referenced Paul’s own injury history and warned against mocking someone else’s setback. “Logan remember what happened last time you laughed at an injury? Just saying bro!” another follower wrote.
Conor McGregor Addresses Injury Speculation
ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGA Adding to the drama, footage that surfaced before the fight led some fans to speculate McGregor may have already been injured before stepping into the Octagon. The video circulating online appeared to show the former two-division champion stumbling while removing his shoes backstage, prompting theories that the injury may have occurred before the opening bell.
McGregor quickly pushed back against those claims. “I had no injury / injuries going into the fight,” he wrote on X. “I was throwing kicks, planted and jumping, all throughout camp as well as backstage before the fight. This came out of nowhere. I am beyond dark here. I can only describe it as hell.”
Dana White Believes McGregor Suffered Another Career-Altering Injury
ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGA The abrupt ending left fans searching for answers, and UFC President Dana White provided an early assessment that painted a grim picture for McGregor’s future.
Speaking to reporters after the event, White said doctors believe the former two-division champion may have suffered a torn ACL during the opening moments of the fight. “We’re assuming a blown ACL,” White said, per ESPN. “I’m no doctor, but that’s what I figured when I saw it, and doctors think the same thing too.”
If confirmed, the injury would mark yet another devastating setback in what has become a difficult stretch for one of the UFC’s biggest stars.
The injury is particularly concerning because it follows another high-profile fight stoppage caused by a serious physical setback. During his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, McGregor suffered a gruesome broken leg that forced the contest to be stopped between rounds and sidelined him for an extended period.
McGregor Insists His Fighting Career Isn’t Over
Steven Bergman/AFF-USA.COM / MEGADespite the devastating setback, the 37-year-old made it clear he has no intention of retiring. And while McGregor insisted after UFC 329 that he has no plans to retire, another lengthy recovery could complicate any comeback plans and leave fans wondering whether the former champion will ever return to the form that made him one of the biggest names in combat sports history.
