Lioness Season 4: Everything We Know After Taylor Sheridan’s Best Cliffhanger

Taylor Sheridan’s Lioness hasn’t been officially greenlit for Season 4. However, viewers are eagerly waiting for Lioness Season 4 following the major cliffhanger left at the end of Season 3, which premiered its last episode on September 20, 2026. Season 3 finale revealed that the abduction of Joe McNamara (Zoe Saldaña) has a surprising connection to the events in Season 1.

While Paramount has yet to officially confirm the season renewal, the ending of the last season suggests that the spy thriller series could have more missions left, with new developments. Jill Wagner, a producer and a cast member of the series, has also hinted at the renewal. In August, she told ScreenRant, “We’re going to get a Season 4. We will, we will. When people see what [Taylor Sheridan] wrote for the finale, we are getting a Season 4. Or I will pay you $100.”

When Will Lioness Season 4 Release?

Lioness Season 3 premiered on August 2, 2026, and the finale arrived on September 20. Since Season 4 has not been officially confirmed yet, there is no release date available as of now. However, there is hope. Fox News has reported that screenwriter Michael Idov has announced on his private Instagram page that he and his wife have joined Sheridan’s global smash hit as writers and supervising producers. That said, nothing in Hollywood is confirmed until there is an official announcement.

If Season 4 happens, which we hope it will, series regulars like Zoe Saldaña as McNamara, Nicole Kidman as Kaitlyn Meade, and Morgan Freeman as Edwin Mullins are expected to return. However, Saldaña’s return is debated, as she originally signed a three-season contract as a main cast member and executive producer for the Paramount series, reports ScreenRant. She also has Avatar commitments, so her future with the series may face some scheduling discrepancies.

Jill Wagner could also return as Bobby, while Laysla De Oliveira could join as Cruz. Other cast members like Dave Annable, Michael Kelly, and Thad Luckinbill could also return if their characters remain part of Lioness Season 4.

Lioness Season 3 finale began with Joe getting her hands on some valuable information about her abduction. It is revealed that an Iran-backed Iraqi militia known as Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada hired the men who kidnapped her. At the end, only viewers find out that Aaliyah Amrohi (Stephanie Nur) is the one who desperately wants to have Joe kidnapped and thrown out of the United States.
