WHO IS BUYING LUNCH?

Has anyone asked Olivia Chow how she intends to pay for lunches for the schoolchildren, who will distribute the food, how will she have a variety of nutritious food each day for Toronto’s diverse population and how will she address the many food allergies that are prevalent with children today? Chow is a misguided, incompetent fool. As Toronto burns, all she cares about is her political future. Wake up, Toronto, she does not deserve another term.

Michael Leonard Florio

Brampton

(She intends to pay for it — if she even fulfils this promise — with higher taxes. Wake up indeed.)

RAISING THE CHILDREN

Re “Chow’s meal plan: breakfast, lunch — and hold the dinner” (Jerry Agar, Oct. 5): School breakfast already provided. Lunch on the way, dinner to follow soon. Add the bedtime snack, as Mr. Agar says, and we will soon see the implementation of Olivia Chow’s taxpayer-funded socialist residential schools for any whose parents cannot afford the other type known as the private boarding school. Best to indoctrinate them young before they learn independent thinking. Whatever happened to parents being responsible for the upbringing of their own children?

J. Dougherty

Toronto

(Chow’s plan – everything is free! Except it’s not.)

CHECK THE RECORD

During the debate between Olivia Chow and Brad Bradford, Chow kept mentioning that people should look at how Bradford voted as a councillor. Well, people need to look at how Chow and her socialist councillors voted over 20 years ago. She was all for the tax and spend, against cars and created an entire industry for the homeless. She was against any accountability as to where taxpayers’ dollars went. She supported strikes and was against any growth where people made money.

Mark Slobodian

Toronto

(Yes, indeed, voters should look at the voting record and Chow’s will be a horror show for taxpayers.)

CHOW SHOWS NO RESPECT

So the mayor is complaining about not respecting local democracy in regards to removing bike lanes from Bloor St. Where was the respect for local democracy and the opinion of the people of Toronto when the renaming of Dundas St. and Yonge-Dundas Square was being pushed through?

Ian MacKenzie

Toronto

(Respect and democracy are buzz words they like to throw around when it suits them.)
