A DIFFERENT MESSAGE
Ok, this is where the rubber hits the tarmac. Although English is my first language, it appears that I lack a proper understanding. Is “Fortress North America” the same as “a new world order,” one based in Europe but Canada a major “middle power”? How is the transportation of Canadian auto goods across the spanking new Gordie Howe bridge going to help us in U.S. trade when we are importing Chinese EVs? How can our auto industry compete with state-owned companies? They can’t. Does “Fortress North America” include the “deals” Canada is desperately trying to make with every other nation except the U.S.? Are South Korean submarines and Swedish planes part of this walled continent? Clarification, please, because this entire saga reads like an Abbott and Costello bit, “Who’s on first”?

(You’ve got to the heart of the issue. Carney says one thing in the United States and another thing when he’s over in Europe and then another thing when he’s home in Canada. It’s a disjointed and inconsistent message that is dizzying)
SPIN CYCLE
I don’t need anything from Canada, so why renew CUSMA? But yet again, the 51st state cracks are rolling off a certain person’s tongue. What am I missing here? You don’t need anything, yet you want all of it. With philosophy like that, wouldn’t you ponder to yourself, at least, why wouldn’t they want me as their new head of state. It feels like Donald Trump is stuck in the washing machine with a never-ending spin cycle. What it really needs is, at least, an extended rinse cycle. I would say “heavy load, extremely soiled” but that just wouldn’t be very nice.
