SAY NO TO AIRPORT EXPANSION
Why is Premier Doug Ford and his government choosing to believe that Billy Bishop airport needs to be expanded? Of all the challenges facing our province, this is what you focus on? When did our leaders stop valuing water, when did our leaders stop believing that water is life and that protecting our water should be a priority? What happened to leaders caring about the health of citizens? Are we not learning by seeing how other countries are struggling due to water scarcity and water pollution? Are we not in a climate crisis, or are you choosing to ignore this? We will not mitigate climate affects without protecting our natural environment. Pearson is the most logical and financially safe place for airport expansion. It is surrounded by industrial lands, there are many options for transportation to and from the airport, the infrastructure is there. Who would be served by Billy Bishop expansion? The increased emissions, and pollution of every kind (air, water, noise, soil, thermal), makes this a very destructive and costly long-term move. It makes no financial sense so please say no to this idea. The negative impacts will be life changing to our environment and once it’s gone, it’s gone.

(There are significant economic considerations for the expansion, as is there the need to relieve the congestion faced at Pearson. Certainly the environmental concerns you raise need to be addressed but it won’t be a perfect solution)

So hardly-ever-in-Canada Mark Carney is on the plane again. Does that mean we, the taxpayer, will have to foot another top-of-the-line gourmet food bill? And I thought Justin Trudeau was bad. Silly me.
