Who rules the roost? John Schneider, hardly. Ross Atkins, nope. Mark Shapiro, not a chance. Any guesses? It’s not a difficult question. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. You know the guy. He’s the one that saunters to first base, laughs when he drops a pop-up, and carries the Gatorade jug onto the field. The guy that leads by example. If the aforementioned Blue Jays leaders have dipped into parenthood, one can only assume that they are lousy at it. I just can’t imagine a five-year-old running my household, can you?

LEARN TO FIGHT
Re “TDSB tolerates assault but not self-defence” (Kevin Vuong, June 25): Having watched parents successfully deal with school bullying, I maintain that the parents of a bullied child must 1) enroll the child in a good martial arts/self-defence program, 2) seek legal counsel. This is especially important in those situations where school administrators not only refuse to recognize that there is a problem, but have all manner of creative ways to blame the parents and the victim. This even more so when the victim successfully fights back. Indeed, school administrators fear the possibility of a successful lawsuit, which involves the possibility not only of negative media publicity, but also of being saddled with hefty damages and court costs.
