In the bodycam footage released Monday, an officer is seen getting out of his police cruiser, walking towards a YMCA where a yoga class is happening outdoors under a tent.

As he walks past the people, a man approaches the tent on an e-scooter.

The officer then shouts at him repeatedly to stop as the man runs off, leaving behind his electric vehicle.

The cop chases the man past a parking lot into a field where another officer joins him in the pursuit.

With the officers hot on his trail, the man is seen on the ground, pointing a gun at the cop.

The officer fires several shots, and the man is seen lying prone on the ground.

Austin Police Department said in a statement that the officers began providing life-saving measures until paramedics arrived.

Police responding to 911 calls about the man

The man identified by police as Emmanuel Diaz, 29, died at the scene.

Police said officers had responded to 911 calls earlier in the day of a man allegedly pointing a gun at a group of runners after one of them told him to slow down while riding his e-scooter on the sidewalk.

Police said officers had arrived at the scene two minutes after the initial 911 call, but the man had already left the scene.

About two hours later, he was located by police in an urban trail, which was near the YMCA where he was fatally shot.
