SOVEREIGNTY FIRST
Re “Teaming up on pipeline” (Bryan Passifiume, July 7): A standing ovation for Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario, as the article says, “Energy security is essential for all countries,” and for those who don’t support that logical thinking, go stand beside the guy in the Oval Office who started a war with absolutely no concept of the impact to the entire global economy simply by closing the Strait of Hormuz. We are now in a position to move forward from the Liberals and a lost decade of absolutely discouraging missed green energy objectives and millions of misspent dollars under Justin Trudeau — even Mark Carney can see the writing on the wall. This joint Canadian effort saves our sovereignty, opens new economic partnerships, and frees Canadians from any current or future American pressures, tariffs or presidential silliness, while ensuring we benefit from our home-grown resources.

(It is positive the provinces have been able to come together to make this happen. As long as the feds stay out of the way)
BUILDING A PIPELINE
The proposal by the Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario premiers to build a new oil pipeline from Alberta to Ontario is long overdue, very welcome, and very much in the national interest. It eliminates shipping crude oil through the U.S. to Ontario and Montreal refineries, could easily be extended to other Quebec and New Brunswick refineries that import a half-million barrels/day of foreign crude oil, and could serve to supply our European friends and allies with stable supplies of crude oil and refined products. Bravo, Danielle Smith, Scott Moe and Doug Ford! Now, what say you, Mark Carney?

(Carney should fully endorse this pipeline to and let provinces get on with it as it really is in the national interest)
