In a development that will shock no one, there have been new leaks regarding the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. It seems like we’re getting to know everything about the Switch 2 from everyone except Nintendo. This time, the leaks showcase new images of the Joy-Cons on the next-gen handheld. And it’s interesting.

The new leaks reveal a design that appears strikingly similar to the original Joy-Cons, and some fans have already started to question whether Nintendo even innovated. There are some obvious changes in appearance but the overall design is mostly similar. Maybe Nintendo has some hidden details like a fix for the stick drift problem under the hood.

The leaked images first surfaced on a Chinese social media platform and were shared on Reddit by Redditor u/SwordfishAgile3472. The images appear to showcase a left Joy-Con with a matte black finish accented by a blue magnetic rail. Despite the updated attachment mechanism using magnets instead of physical rails, the overall design remains largely unchanged. Let’s hope this isn’t a recurring theme with the Switch 2.

The resemblance to the original Joy-Con is undeniable. The leaked images show the same basic shape, button layout, and joystick positioning. However, there are a few noteworthy changes, such as larger SL and SR buttons and a third button speculated to release the magnetic grip. Some fans have already begun expressing disappointment over the similarity.
