Taylor Sheridan has built a reputation for creating amazing dramas, and he’s done it once again with Landman, where he depicts an unflinching portrayal of the West Texas oil industry and its power plays. At the heart of this narrative is Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris, who has a teenage daughter named Ainsley, played by Michelle Randolph.

Ainsley is an important character in the show because her actions often lead to tensions, and the connection she shares with her father makes her an easy and vulnerable target for people who have a vendetta against him. Fans are abuzz with theories about the teenager’s fate, so could they be right about Sheridan’s next plot twist?

The cartel in Landman seems like it would stop at nothing when it comes to Tommy, and ever since the first episode’s explosive events, we’ve seen their hatred simmer. It all began when a plane crash destroyed a shipment of d*rugs, and the cartel held Tommy responsible but he did not agree to any repayments.

This unresolved conflict led to the cartel members surveilling his home, and doing so brought Ainsley into their sight. Viewers can’t help but be a little concerned about the character because she is rebellious like a teenager, who ends up in awkward encounters with a football player.

Ainsley’s impulsive nature often puts her in uncomfortable situations. In episode 7, we see her having an intimate moment with a quarterback at a party, and then she is interrupted by Tommy. They both flee the scene but are unaware of the cartel members watching them. So, fans have been predicting that she will likely get kidnapped, and it seems like the logical outcome after such a build-up, making it one of the best series this year.

The cartel keeping an eye on the family has sparked a wave of fan theories that claim that Ainsley will likely be abducted. According to viewers, her defiant behavior is what will land her in trouble. Tommy as a father, is naturally protective of her, so it’s not surprising if they use his daughter to arm-twist him into following orders.

Some suggest that her abduction will lead to Tommy going head-to-head with the cartel, in a dramatic showdown, which is often what Taylor Sheridan does in many of his creations. Others think that she might already be entangled with her father’s enemies due to half-baked knowledge about their conflict with Tommy.

Needless to say, the stakes for Tommy and his family are high, and after the cliffhanger of episode 7, we will possibly see many direct confrontations. So, it’s yet to be seen whether Ainsley will actually get abducted and if it would lead to a daring rescue, tragic loss, or a twist that Sheridan plotted.
