We are getting a new iteration of the Jurassic World franchise with Jonathan Bailey, Scarlett Johansson, and Mahershala Ali in the forefront, so we can already expect thrilling science fiction action from renowned director Gareth Edwards.
The film takes place five years after the events in Jurassic World Dominion where the Earth has proven itself uninhabitable for dinosaurs. The three major characters will dive into an underground mission where they will be confronted with terrifying secrets that the world hasn’t seen for decades.
Jurassic World Rebirth hits theaters on July 2, 2025.
2 Saw XI
This is the eleventh installment in the long-time-running horror franchise. After the warm reception of fans towards 2023’s Saw X, the film series experienced a notable reinvigoration that is likely to continue with the upcoming movie.
There is not much update about the new film, but it has been confirmed that Tobin Bell will reprise his role as John Kramer, aka Jigsaw. It is also expected to pick up after the events in the previous movie.
Saw XI hits theaters on September 26, 2025.
3 Peaky Blinders Movie
Tentatively entitled The Immortal Man, the upcoming historical crime drama film will serve as a continuing story of Cillian Murphy’s Peaky Blinders series. The project has been in development since 2021 when writer Steven Knight discussed the potential expansion of the show even before the series’ conclusion in 2022.
Murphy has expressed willingness to return as Thomas Shelby, the enigmatic and intelligent crime leader of the Peaky Blinders gang, and he will be joined by an ensemble cast, including newcomers Rebecca Ferguson and Barry Keoghan.
So far, there is no official release date announced, although given that production wrapped up in December last year, we can only speculate that it might arrive around late 2025.
4 Superman
James Gunn’s Superman has been teasing the public since last year with several updates from the set. With David Corenswet leading the film as Clark Kent, fans will be seeing a younger version of the alien hero as he tries to reconnect his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing.
It will be the first major film franchise from Gunn’s DC Universe and a reboot of the Superman movie series. The official teaser trailer was released in December, and it showed a more colorful and lighthearted version of the superhero, as compared to Henry Cavill’s brooding character.
Superman hits theaters on July 11, 2025.
5 Captain America: Brave New World
The new Captain America, Sam Wilson, finds himself in the middle of an international catastrophe after meeting President Thaddeus Ross, which forces him to uncover and stop the masterminds behind this plan.
Anthony Mackie confirmed that the upcoming installment is a direct continuation of Disney+’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It was supposed to be released in 2024, but due to the 2023 writers’ strike, as well as the mediocre reaction towards its early test screening, the film had to undergo reshoots, as per Game Rant.
Captain America: Brave New World hits theaters on February 14, 2025.
6 Avatar: Fire and Ash
Following the success of James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water, the third film promises to take the viewers deeper into the volcanic regions of Pandora. There, they will meet the Ash People. It has been hinted at before that Fire and Ash will be the darkest installment in the franchise.
The director previously said that the creative advance in Avatar 3 is the exploration of new cultures and creatures we have never seen before. He also promised fans that they would see more exciting places from the planet of Pandora, which explains the introduction of new characters.
Avatar: Fire and Ash hits theaters on December 19, 2025.
7 How to Train Your Dragon
The highly anticipated live-action adaption of DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon was announced in early 2023, with Dean DeBlois returning to write, produce and direct.
It has the same premise as the fan-favorite animated version, which follows a young Viking named Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III who aspires to become a dragon hunter only to become friends with a young one named Toothless.

8 Ballerina
From the world of Keanu Reeves’ John Wick comes Ana de Armas’ Ballerina, a spinoff neo-noir action thriller film that takes place between the events of Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4.
