Spoiler Alert !!!
This article contains minor spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen manga.
Finally, Jujutsu Kaisen is entering one of its most decisive phases, and the first look at Season 4 has only heightened anticipation around Part 2 of the Culling Game Arc. With the previous season ending just a few months ago, the story is now moving toward its biggest twists and long-awaited payoffs.
Nearly three months after Season 3 wrapped up, MAPPA surprised fans with a teaser that not only previews upcoming battles but also brings renewed focus to Ryomen Sukuna‘s dangerous pact with Yuji Itadori – a deal whose true, catastrophic consequences are about to be unleashed.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Sukuna’s Binding Vow to Yuji Explained
Sukuna’s binding vow with Yuji dates back to the Fearsome Womb arc, when Yuji died after Sukuna removed his heart. Inside his innate domain, Sukuna offered to revive him using the Reverse Cursed Technique, but only under strict conditions.

However, the most insidious condition is that Yuji forgets the deal entirely, leaving him completely unaware of when or why Sukuna might take over. When Yuji initially refused, Sukuna proposed a battle to the death over the terms; after easily winning, he added a final restriction – during that one minute, he would not kill or harm anyone.
While this vow remained dormant for a long time, its true danger stems from a massive loophole Yuji didn’t see coming. When the pact was made, Yuji failed to explicitly include himself in the restriction against harming “anyone.”
This binding vow has become crucial once again following the recently revealed Season 4 teaser by MAPPA, which concludes by prominently recalling that exact contract. As the upcoming Culling Game Arc reaches its climax, this forgotten pact becomes the ultimate looming threat. The vow guarantees that Sukuna has a foolproof, terrifying way to intervene at the most critical moment, setting up one of the most devastating twists in the entire series.
MAPPA Drops Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 Trailer With Major Hints
In the 15th anniversary broadcast by MAPPA, the first teaser trailer of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 has been officially unveiled, adapting Part 2 of the Culling Game Arc. The teaser trailer has been posted by Toho Animation, and it clearly indicates that production has already started, even though no release date has been announced.
This teaser includes multiple intense fight scenes, including Kinji Hakari vs Hajime Kashimo and Yuki Tsukumo and Choso vs Kenjaku. These fights take place in colonies such as Tokyo No.2 and Sendai and signal a major escalation in both power and stakes.
Among the most interesting scenes in the teaser is the one when Prison Realm sinks into the sea, directly referencing Chapter 221 from the manga. This suggests that Season 4 will build toward the unsealing of Satoru Gojo, which may serve as the climax of Season 4 and will save the Shinjuku Showdown for further seasons.
Another interesting point about the teaser is the introduction of the bigger picture of the Culling Game and the plans of Kenjaku, going even further than Japan. At the same time, the teaser ends by emphasizing Sukuna’s vow once again, indicating that the deal will probably play a major role in the Culling Game.
Even without a confirmed release window, the timing and quality of the teaser suggest that production is progressing smoothly. With more announcements expected at upcoming events, Season 4 is shaping up to be a crucial bridge between the chaos of the Culling Game and the series’ next major climax.
