Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's amicable reunion not enough to reverse divorce decision

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are not rekindling their romance, despite being seen together with their children over the weekend. Although they shared a friendly lunch, sources confirm that the couple is continuing with their divorce and focusing on co-parenting.

A source told PEOPLE that the recent gathering was all about the kids.

"They all came together for a fun lunch so the kids could hang out," the insider told PEOPLE Magazine.

The lunch took place at the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel, with Affleck's children Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, joining Lopez's twins, Max and Emme, both 16.

Affleck's 18-year-old daughter Violet, now attending Yale University, was not present but had spent time with Lopez in New York earlier in the summer.

Divorce hasn't interfered with their co-parenting

The family lunch comes shortly after Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, on August 20. Despite spending the summer on opposite coasts - Lopez in Los Angeles and Affleck in the Hamptons - they continued to come together for their children's milestones.

The couple celebrated graduations for Affleck's daughter Violet and son Samuel earlier in the summer, showing their dedication to co-parenting through the separation.

Sources say Lopez prioritizes her children's happiness, even during this challenging time.

"A divorce is never easy, but the kids always got along and have fun together," a source shared.

"It makes Lopez happy to see the kids happy. Happy kids are her priority."

Lopez recently returned from the Toronto International Film Festival, where she made her first public appearance since filing for divorce, attending the premiere of her film Unstoppable. According to a source, Lopez was eager to shift focus back to her career.

"She's so over all the attention on her personal life. The film festival truly uplifted her," said the source.
