Following her split from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez is preparing to release a new song that will reveal a very different side of their relationship.
After previously praising their romance in the song "Greatest Love Story Never Told," Lopez is now reportedly ready to share her frustrations, especially about Affleck's shortcomings.
"When they were together, J. Lo put Ben on a pedestal, particularly when it came to their bedroom life," an insider shared.
"But now, she's telling people he wasn't as impressive as she once thought."
The track, "Greatest Love Story Never Told," was part of Lopez's album This Is Me... Now: A Love Story and was featured in a documentary about their rekindled relationship. In the song, Lopez described the passionate connection she had with Affleck.
"Missing your body / Climbing on top of me / Slipping inside of me / Way that I ride it," were a handful of lyrics celebrating their intimacy. The song also touched on deeper emotions, with Lopez expressing how it felt like destiny brought them together twice in one lifetime.
Was the song a tribute?
The album and documentary, released in February 2024, were created as a tribute to their love story. Affleck, despite appearing hesitant in the documentary, was reportedly heavily involved in the project. According to sources, he encouraged Lopez to pursue the album and film, even though it later appeared as though he was surprised by it.
"Ben was very much the driving force behind the project," the source explained.
However, following their split in April, Lopez's perspective has drastically changed. She is now reportedly planning to release a follow-up song that will focus on her disappointment with Affleck, particularly regarding his performance in the relationship.
"She's frustrated that she wrote all those romantic lyrics about him," a source told In Touch.
"Now, she's ready to release a breakup song that will hit him where it hurts, especially in terms of his bedroom skills."
