Jack Nicholson reappears with daughter in rare photo after concern over his solitary lifestyle

Contrary to what we have become accustomed to, the three-time Oscar-winning actor Jack Nicholson, 87, appeared alongside his daughter Lorraine Nicholson, during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

In the image, Jack and Lorraine, 34, are seen embracing in the study of the award-winning actor's home, in a room full of books, trophies, family photographs and art, The Post reported.

Lorraine captioned the post: "The season of giving".

In addition, Lorraine also posted a photo next to her brother, Ray Nicholson. The mother of Lorraine and Ray is Rebecca Broussard, who was the actor's partner.

The former couple welcomed Lorraine in April 1990, before welcoming Ray in February 1992.

In another image, Lorraine is seen smiling alongside her brother and Duke Nicholson, her 25-year-old nephew and Jack's grandson, as well as Duke's girlfriend, influencer Devon Lee Carlson.

Lorraine, Ray and Duke have their own successful careers on the big screen, following in the footsteps of the celebrated actor.

Who is Lorraine Nicholson?

Lorraine is best known for playing Alana Blanchard in the 2011 biopic "Soul Surfer", while Ray is best known for starring in last year's "Smile 2", as well as 2006's "The Benchwarmers" and the 2021 film "Licorice Pizza".

In a February 2024 interview with Vanity Fair, Lorraine said that she frequently visited Hugh Hefner's Playboy mansion as a child, in a reflection of her unusual upbringing.

"I knew the mansion wasn't meant for children, but I didn't ask questions," Lorraine said. "I never went to summer camp. I never had an after-school activity. From the year I was born, 1990, until I was 11, I went to the Playboy Mansion, because that's where my friends were."

In addition to Lorraine and Ray, Jack is also the father of Jennifer Nicholson, born in 1963, whose mother was Jack's then-wife Sandra Knight.

He then welcomed his son Caleb Goddard with his "Five Easy Pieces" co-star Susan Anspach in 1970. After Caleb's arrival, Jack and model Winnie Hollman welcomed their daughter Honey Hollman in 1981.

Jack later welcomed his daughter Tessa Gourin in 1994 with actress Jennine Gourin.

Jack Nicholson's friends worry about his loneliness

The "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" actor has rarely been seen out of the house in recent years.

In January 2023, the actor's friends shared their concerns about his solitary lifestyle and said they were worried.

The Oscar winner had not been seen in public for three years, and friends claimed he was "living like a recluse".

Several sources said the actor "no longer leaves his house" and that "his mind is gone," listing concerns about possible dementia.

His last public appearance was at the Crypto.com Arena in May 2023, where he sat courtside to watch the Los Angeles Lakers in a playoff game. That same year, he was seen in his California neighborhood.

Nicholson spends most of his time in his luxurious Beverly Hills mansion, according to the report. The lavish property belonged to his friend Marlon Brando, and Nicholson bought it for $5 million in 2005, a year after Brando's death. The 3,303-square-foot property features four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a swimming pool.

In terms of his professional life, the actor's last project was the 2011 romantic comedy "How Do You Know", which he starred alongside Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson.
