The actress, who shares three kids with Warren, gave an insightful interview about their marriage last year that seems to have foreshadowed their separation. While the estranged couple has yet to make a statement about their reported separation, the interview alone suffices to give what troubles have been plaguing their marriage.

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren fell in love while on the sets of 2004’s Fantastic Four, where Warren was working as a director’s assistant. The two soon tied the knot and are now parents to 16-year-old Honor, 12-year-old Haven, and 7-year-old Hayes.

However, as TMZ reports, they are heading for divorce after nearly 17 years of marriage and two decades of being together. And in April 2024, Alba had already revealed the biggest red flags in her marriage in an appearance on the BDA Baby podcast.

It’s all rosy for 2 ½ years, but then after that, you become roommates. And it’s just, like, you’re roommates. You’re just going through the motion. It’s the responsibility. It’s a lot of, like, checking the boxes.

When the host, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt asked Alba how she finds balance amid her many responsibilities (being a mother, a wife, and a business owner on top of being an actress) and ensuring her husband feels tended to, the actress made a face. Telling Pratt to let her know if she figures it out, Alba remarked that Warren probably gets the short end of the stick. … It’s hard. It’s impossible.

Jessica Alba and Warren Cash have not revealed or even stated that they are divorcing and as far as the actress’ Instagram account is concerned, everything seems pretty well in their life. While Alba consistently posts photos with her family, there aren’t many ‘date night’ photos with her husband of 17 years.

And while talking to Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt on the BDA Baby podcast, the former Marvel star revealed that the couple struggled to make time for each other. Alba said that they had tried to schedule regular date nights where they wouldn’t be on their phones and just chat, but that stopped because they weren’t consistent and a handful of other reasons why.

Adding on that while they do have the comfort of friendship after being together for so long, they tend not to always treat each other the best or consider their feelings like one you’d consider other’s feelings. Well, her words make it sound like they had been struggling for a long time, making their divorce inevitable.
