On Wednesday morning, the United States launched a fresh round of attacks on Iran. This came after they attacked Iran in a round of overnight strikes.

U.S. Central Command said the “strikes are designed to further degrade military capabilities Iranian forces have used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.”

The press agency reported that Dehaghani was found guilty of “moharebeh” (war against God in Persian) and “corruption on earth.”

State media reported that on Jan. 9, the man threw a Molotov cocktail outside the governor’s office in Dehaghany, set it on fire and destroyed public property and the town’s police station.

In late December, protests spread across the country as people rallied against the cost of living in Iran.

Rights groups said crackdowns on protests resulted in thousands being killed.

Iran retaliates against U.S. attacks

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said another retaliatory campaign against American military targets is underway.

The attacks come after the U.S ramped up its attacks on Iran overnight, and on Wednesday morning, the New York Times reported.

In statements carried by state news media, the IRGC said that it had launched strikes at bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan.

The United States launched a fresh wave of attacks on Wednesday morning on Iran, following a round of overnight attacks.
