Few in the gaming world could’ve predicted that Capcom’s Pragmata would go on to become one of the year’s biggest hits. The game brings a sci-fi action-adventure focused around the relationship between Diana, an artificial cyborg, and astronaut Hugh Williams, who’s voiced by none other than David Menkin. He’s a familiar name in the gaming world thanks to his performances in titles such as Valorant, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and many more. While it’s unclear whether Hugh will return in a potential sequel, Menlkin has revealed that he would gladly reprise the role if Capcom decides to turn Pragmata into a television series.

It’s fair to say that video game adaptations are the hot trend of the entertainment world. This is a genre that once had a bad reputation for disappointing projects, but recent success stories like The Last of Us, Arcane, and Fallout have completely changed the perception. With Pragmata becoming one of the year’s breakout hits, fans can’t help but wonder if the title could also receive the same treatment. So, when FandomWire got the opportunity to ask Menkin whether he would be interested in starring in a live-action adaptation of the game, he made it clear that he’s absolutely on board.
Of course, one might wonder how a potential adaptation could work, considering that Hugh in the game spends most of the time wearing a mask and is constantly involved in physically demanding sequences. Menkin compared the situation to Pedro Pascal in The Mandalorian, where the masked protagonist often relies on stunt performers during action sequences. According to him, a Pragmata adaptation could follow a similar formula, where it’s the stunt actors who step in whenever intense sequences are required while the helmet stays on.
You know what? I’m gonna say yes. Because you look at Pedro Pascal, right? He’s the Mandalorian. Whenever something really physically demanding has to happen, Mando has his mask on. He’s not gonna fight with his mask off because it’s written into lore that it would be shameful, and he could no longer be a Mandalorian.
As far as I’m concerned, whenever Hugh has to do something more than a walk, the mask has to come down. So, yeah, it’s definitely gonna be me, because I will have a team of amazing stunt actors doing all the difficult stuff.
The voice actor revealed that he would even go as far as “looksmaxxing” to better match the character physically if he lands the opportunity to return as Hugh in an adaptation. Menkin also believes that a television series would work far better than a movie for the series, as it would give the audience enough time to naturally connect with Hugh and Diana’s relationship, which is an important aspect of the story.
Beyond Pragmata, Menkin also shared his thoughts on video game adaptations in general. He explained that films and games are fundamentally different media and should only be adapted when there’s a genuine creative reason behind it. According to him, any studio that’s adapting a game into film or television must respect players and fans who helped the original title find success in the first place.

However, fans who are eager to hear more of Menkin in major gaming projects have plenty to look forward to. During the interview, the voice actor was also asked if there were any studios he would love to collaborate with in the future, and according to Menkin, it’s quite a long list.
Although he didn’t reveal every name on it, he confirmed that Naughty Dog sits at the top. The studio is currently developing Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and a collaboration there perfectly continues Menkin’s streak of sci-fi-focused games.
I have a list [of developers]. I’m not gonna tell you the whole list, because it’s embarrassing, but up at the top is Naughty Dog. I want to work with that team. Are they working on something? Yes, they are [working on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet]. I could continue my sci-fi [streak], but I do get to embrace my villain status later this year because I will be in Hellraiser: Revival.
Whether or not such a partnership happens remains to be seen, but players can expect to hear Menkin Hellraiser: Revival as a villain. The upcoming title is being developed by Saber Interactive, the minds behind Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2.
The project has been described as an action horror survival game and is expected to drop sometime in 2026. While Menkin stayed quiet about the specifics of his role, he teased that the game is “very bloody” and a lot of fun.
