What to Expect From Top Chef Season 23 Finale?
The Top Chef Season 23 finale will bring one last high-pressure challenge as the finalists create the best four-course progressive meal of their lives. A sneak peek at the finale reveals the chefs visiting Grandfather Mountain, where Kristen Kish reveals the final elimination challenge, declaring that every course must be a toast to someone or something important in their lives (Bravo).
The finalists will also be joined by former Top Chef winners and contestants, Stephanie Izard, Joe Flamm, and Sara Bradley, as mentors. Laurence is paired with Stephanie Izard, Rhoda with Joe Flamm, and Sherry with two-time finalist Sara Bradley.
Additionally, they will also be paired with former Season 23 contestants as their sous chefs. Sherry, who won the last elimination challenge, gets first pick of sous chefs and chooses Anthony, while Rhoda selects Sieger, and Laurence teams up with Jonathan.
For the finale, Laurence is planning a menu that reflects his community and personal journey, including a dim sum-inspired course that reminds him of family gatherings. Meanwhile, Rhoda wants to cook more from the heart by bringing Filipino-inspired flavors into the finale. Sherry’s menu is inspired by her upbringing in New York and Brazil.
With emotional stories, ambitious menus, and high expectations, the Top Chef Season 23 finale is expected to deliver an intense and memorable showdown. The finalists will not only compete on technique and flavor but also on how well they present their personal journeys through food.
Who I Think Will Win Top Chef Season 23?
Laurence Louie | Credit: BravoThe one contestant who has stood out to me as a potential winner has been Laurence Louie. Throughout Top Chef: Carolinas, he has been one of the most consistent chefs in the competition. Laurence has delivered strong dishes across many different challenges and has rarely struggled compared to the other contestants.
His wins in major challenges, including the whole hog barbecue, dinner party challenge, and fish challenge, showed both skill and creativity. I also think the judges respect his ability to stay calm under pressure while still making refined and flavorful food.
Another reason I see Laurence as the most likely winner is his steady growth throughout the season. He has performed well individually and in team challenges like Restaurant Wars, which is usually an important turning point in Top Chef.
Rhoda and Sherry are both very strong contenders and definitely have the talent to win. However, based on consistency, momentum, and overall performance, Laurence still feels like the most likely winner of Top Chef Season 23.
