KPop Demon Hunters, the animated musical that became Netflix’s most-viewed film, is returning to theaters this summer as part of Regal Cinemas’ Summer Movie Express. Originally released on Netflix on June 20, 2025, the film reportedly drew more than 500 million views over the following year. It will be screened at Regal theaters nationwide from Monday, June 15, through Thursday, June 18, 2026.
Tickets will cost just $1 per person, regardless of age, making it one of the most affordable theatrical screenings of the year. Showtimes are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. each day, Monday through Thursday, and audiences will be able to enjoy the film as a sing-along presentation.
This marks the film’s third theatrical run. Following its Netflix debut, it received two limited theatrical engagements: first, a sing-along version on August 23–24, 2025, and later another run from October 31 through November 2, 2025. Those screenings became the widest theatrical releases for a Netflix film by theater count, and the movie also topped the U.S. box office.
All The Details On KPop Demon Hunters Coming To Theaters
Regal’s Summer Movie Express is a promotion the theater chain has run for several years, offering $1 tickets to family films at hundreds of locations nationwide. This year’s lineup includes both recent hits and older favorites. For example, KPop Demon Hunters is screening alongside A Minecraft Movie and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 . Snacks and drinks will also be available at discounted prices.
Co-written and directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, KPop Demon Hunters is a Sony Pictures Animation production made for Netflix. The story follows Huntrix, a K-pop girl group whose members are also demon hunters, as they face the Saja Boys, a K-pop boy band made up of demons.
The voice cast includes Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo-seop, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, Yunjin Kim, Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, and Lee Byung-hun. Beyond its streaming success, the film also received significant awards attention, winning Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Golden” at both the 83rd Golden Globe Awards and the 98th Academy Awards. Its soundtrack also became the first film soundtrack ever to place four songs in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time, and it was certified double platinum in the United States in October 2025. For those unfamiliar, a sequel is also in development.
