How to Get Wheat in Solarpunk?

Wheat does not spawn on your starting island in Solarpunk! So, don’t waste time looking for it there. Getting your hands on it requires upgrading your Airship first.

After that, not only can you harvest Wheat, but you can also grow your own. In this guide, we will cover both how to unlock the islands and exactly where the Wheat nodes are once you land.

Part 1: Unlock the Islands With Wheat in Solarpunk

Step 1: Accept that Wheat is locked behind the Airship Upgrade 1

Unlike early crops such as Cotton and Blueberries, Wheat is intentionally placed on islands that are out of range until you upgrade.

Step 2: Trade with the Tradebot to unlock the Airship Upgrade

You will need to complete a series of trades in this order:

• 4x Watermelon

• 12x Cotton

• 20x Beeswax

• 10x Watermelon

• 32x Copper

After the final trade, you will receive the upgrade blueprint.

Step 3: Use the blueprints at the Energy Workbench to craft the required components

The upgrade requires items like Solar Panels to power the airship. The blueprints from the Tradebot tell you exactly what to build.

Step 4: Return to your Dock and interact with the Airship Bench to apply the upgrade

Once upgraded, your Airship’s travel range expands, and the Wheat islands become reachable.

Part 2: Find and Farm Wheat in Solarpunk

Step 5: Fly to the island cluster to the northwest or the large island to the northeast.

Both locations have Wheat growing naturally on the ground. However, the northeast island is the larger source with around 3–4 nodes.

Step 6: Harvest every Wheat node you can find

Each node gives you 1x Wheat and 1x Wheat Seed. So, collecting all of them also gives you your starter seeds for farming.

Step 7: Plant the Wheat Seeds at your base to grow your own supply

Wheat takes 15 minutes to mature on a farm bed. Once grown, it can be used to make Dough and Bread, or turned back into seeds to scale up your farm.
