Earlier this year, Rodney Jones filed a lawsuit against Sean Combs, better known as Diddy. The suit throws a lot of serious allegations into the mix, including s*xual assault and other misdeeds. 

According to court documents witnessed by PEOPLE, Jones was behind nine tracks on Combs’ Love album, working from September 2022 through November 2023. The former claimed that his experiences during this period extended far beyond the typical demands of a music producer, asserting he 

Witnessed, experienced, and endured many things that far surpassed his role in creating the Love album.

But here’s where things get a bit juicy: various news sources have highlighted Prince Harry’s name in this lawsuit. But why? Business Insider took a deep dive into the document and found that his name is mentioned just once, almost as an afterthought. According to the lawsuit, Combs is accused of using his celebrity connections to lend legitimacy to his alleged s*x-trafficking activities.

In one section of the filing, Jones lists various celebrities who might have been associated with Combs’ activities, including the Duke of Sussex. The document states:

Affiliation with, and or sponsorship of Mr. Combs s*x-trafficking parties garnered legitimacy and access to celebrities such as famous athletes, political figures, artists, musicians, and international dignitaries like British Royal, Prince Harry.

However, it’s crucial to note that Prince Harry’s name is used as an example of the high-profile people Combs allegedly rubbed elbows with. There’s no evidence suggesting that the former was aware of, or involved in, any illicit activities.

Did They Ever Meet? Prince Harry and Diddy’s Connection

According to Page Six Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William met Diddy at a star-studded party back in 2007 celebrating the ‘Concert for Diana’ held at Wembley Stadium. The rapper, 54, who performed I’ll Be Missing You in tribute to Princess Diana, even posed for a memorable photo with Prince Harry and Kanye West. However, it is unclear whether they ever crossed paths again.

We learned from Royal Family’s website that this high-profile event, which also featured celebrities such as Elton John and David Beckham, succeeded in raising an impressive £1.2 million ($1.51 million) for eight charities.

In a 2011 appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Combs reminisced about Prince Harry & Prince William when they were younger and more inclined to party (via Business Insider). The former quipped:

Trust me they’re off the list. When they were young bucks growing up and they were getting in a lot of trouble themselves, so I was like, ‘Why don’t you come hang out with me?’

It seems the once-frequent interaction between Combs and the Royal brothers has since faded into the background.

Just as news about Prince Harry’s mention in the lawsuit made headlines, the situation took a dramatic turn with a raid by the Department of Homeland Security on Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami. In September 2024, the drama continued when Dawn Richard filed a lawsuit against Combs for s*xual abuse, with allegations dating back to 2008.
