One of the most anticipated announcements at Nintendo’s Direct on 9th June, 2026, has finally been made. Revealed last year, The Duskbloods is a Switch 2 exclusive project of the renowned director Hidetaka Miyazaki, the same man who pioneered the Souls genre, and his latest project is now officially slated to go into closed network testing this summer.

The latest trailer for The Duskbloods showcases what are supposedly ‘Bloodkins’, or one of the characters you can transform into as you give up your humanity and dive into a Dusk Battle. Moreover, the trailer showcases the meticulously built world of the game, including the blood-red moon/ planet that is presumably the source of power for our vampire-like characters that have gained superpowers with the help of something called the ‘Special Blood.’
In all honesty, the latest one-minute-long trailer couldn’t have been more obscure, but it still delivered the one piece of information everyone was dying to hear: a Closed Network Test that will supposedly open up sometime this summer. This should also mean that the game is well on track for its 2026 release.
What Is The Duskbloods About?

It’s also the second-ever console exclusive FromSoftware has ever made for Nintendo after the release of Lost Kingdoms II in 2003.
As mentioned before, the upcoming title blends PvP and PvE gameplay together, with every match supporting up to eight players going up against each other. Players will also get to choose from a dozen vampire-like characters known as Bloodsworn, each of them arriving with their own unique weapons and abilities.
