Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s tributes to Ken Urker are drawing questions about a privacy decision she announced months earlier. After Urker’s death, Blanchard shared a filtered video of their daughter, Aurora, followed by a photograph of him holding the little girl. The posts caught attention because Blanchard had previously told followers she would not publish pictures of Aurora, citing her privacy and safety. Now, social media users are debating the change, with some claiming Urker wanted their daughter’s face kept private. Others have raised the possibility that Blanchard is simply sharing meaningful memories while grieving.
Gypsy Rose Shares Aurora In Her Tributes To Ken Urker
Xavier Collin/Image Press Agency/MEGA Blanchard’s first Instagram tribute included a collection of personal photographs and videos of Urker, who was found unresponsive at a Louisiana home on October 1, his 34th birthday. Among the clips was a video of Aurora with a playful filter over her face. “You will always be my greatest love story. You will be remembered and loved forever,” Blanchard wrote in the caption.
On Sunday morning, she shared another photograph featuring Aurora, this time showing Urker holding their daughter. That post promoted a Change.org petition for “Kenan’s Law,” an effort Blanchard described as seeking changes to how social media platforms review repeated harassment reports.
“I only have my daughter and my voice,” she began the caption. “In honor of Ken, I am asking for your support for Kenan’s Law. LINK IN BIO,” she continued.
Blanchard Previously Promised To Keep Aurora’s Photos Private
The new posts follow a public statement Blanchard made shortly after Aurora’s birth in December 2024. In January 2025, she addressed followers who wanted to see pictures of her daughter and explained why she would not be sharing them.
“To everyone asking, no, I will not be posting pictures of Aurora,” she wrote on Instagram. “I understand everyone’s excitement, and we appreciate the support, but we value the privacy and safety of our daughter.”
Blanchard continued concealing Aurora’s face in subsequent posts. As recently as August, she celebrated her daughter turning 19 months old with a compilation of clips in which her face remained blurred.
- Ken Urker was reportedly seeking full custody amid rumors of a breakup with Gypsy Rose.
- Gypsy Rose Blanchard was reportedly planning to enter a behavioral health center before Ken’s passing.
- Before his death, Ken Urker set the record straight on when he reconnected with Gypsy.
Facebook Post Criticizes The Timing Of Aurora’s Appearance
One Facebook post objected to Blanchard showing Aurora’s face so soon after Urker’s death. “Ken had been very protective of Aurora’s privacy and did not want their daughter’s face publicly exposed,” the author claimed. “Now Ken is gone, and almost immediately she’s showing Aurora’s face publicly as part of Gypsy’s tribute to him..I find that completely disgusting.”
The post argued that Blanchard should continue honoring what the writer described as Urker’s wishes. “To me, respecting Ken’s memory should also mean respecting the boundaries he wanted for his daughter,” they wrote. “Aurora is a child. She cannot understand what it means to have her image distributed across social media, and once those pictures are online, there is no taking them back.”
The author also urged people to separate the couple’s relationship problems from decisions involving their daughter. “Whatever problems existed between Gypsy and Ken belong to the adults,” they wrote. “Aurora deserves privacy regardless of how famous her parents are. Ken can no longer advocate for that boundary himself, which makes protecting it even more important in my opinion.”
Instagram Account Raises Another Explanation For The Posts
Xavier Collin/Image Press Agency/MEGAThe discussion also reached Instagram, where @rei_clarke questioned Blanchard’s decision. The account claimed Urker “had previously made it clear that he did not want his daughter’s face shared publicly on social media.”
That allegation prompted a discussion about whether his reported wishes should continue to guide decisions about Aurora’s online presence. However, the account also acknowledged another possible explanation, asking whether Blanchard was simply “a grieving mother sharing a meaningful memory.”
Blanchard Has Promised Aurora Will Know Her Father’s Love
Blanchard and Urker welcomed Aurora Raina in December 2024 after reuniting earlier that year. Their relationship began through letters while Blanchard was incarcerated. Urker contacted her in 2017, and they became engaged in 2018 before later separating.
Blanchard subsequently married Ryan Anderson. Following the end of that marriage, she and Urker reunited in April 2024. Earlier reporting said they separated again before his death.
Since his passing, Blanchard has described Urker as an amazing father and promised to “make sure she grows up knowing how deeply her father loved her.” She has said she suspects he died from an overdose, although the official cause and manner of death have not been established in the information provided. Authorities have said the investigation is continuing.
In Sunday’s petition announcement, Blanchard wrote, “Ken’s passing has made me determined to turn pain into purpose. I cannot change what happened, but I can advocate for a better system for the next person who feels like no one is listening.”
