Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition: Release Countdown & What to Expect

Ghost of Yōtei is getting its biggest post-launch content update almost a year after its release. Sucker Punch is adding a new story expansion and a combat survival mode to the PS5 exclusive adventure, along with several free updates for all players.

The Complete Edition launches on October 1, with the new content going live at the same time worldwide. Here’s when it releases in your region, along with a countdown and everything you need to know before returning to Ezo.

When Does Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Release in Your Region?

Sucker Punch has confirmed that Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted (both included in the Complete Edition) DLC will become available on October 1 at 9:00 AM PDT / 12:00 PM EDT. The two additions will arrive through patch v2.0, although players in some regions will see the local date as October 2.

The Complete Edition itself is already available digitally (via PS Store), but Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted will only become playable once patch v2.0 goes live, which also brings several free additions to everyone who owns Ghost of Yōtei, regardless of whether they purchase the upgrade. Existing owners can also purchase the Complete Edition Upgrade to access the new content.

What to Expect From Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition

The Complete Edition, which is priced at $69.99, includes the original game, Ghost of Yōtei Legends (the co-op multiplayer mode), the new Echoes of Sekigahara expansion, and the Most Wanted combat survival mode. It also includes the previously released Digital Deluxe Edition items, the Charm of Hokkyokusei, new Photo Mode stamps, additional New Game Plus cosmetics, and new Trophies for the two new additions.

Below is a quick overview of each of the new additions:

• Echoes of Sekigahara: A new story expansion split between Atsu’s time during the Battle of Sekigahara and the present day. The present-day story takes her to the previously unseen Ashoro Foothills, where she encounters the Vipers and teams up with Nagato. It also adds new enemies, heavy weapons, Mythic Tales, abilities, armor sets, and cosmetics.
• Most Wanted: A single-player combat survival mode designed around escalating bounties, enemy waves, minibosses, perks, and upgrades. Atsu, Oyuki, Nagato, and Jin Sakai are playable, with Jin bringing all four of his Ghost of Tsushima stances to the new game mode.
• New crossover armor: Most Wanted also adds armor sets inspired by The Last of Us, Astro Bot, Helldivers, and Journey. Once unlocked, these sets can be worn in the main game, Echoes of Sekigahara, and Legends.
• Ghost of Yōtei Legends: The four-player online co-op mode that launched as a free update in March 2026. It includes Story missions, Survival, Incursions, and a Raid featuring the Dragon and Lord Saito.
• Free v2.0 additions: All Ghost of Yōtei owners receive the Beauty of Yōtei mode, new Watanabe Mode tracks, the ability to use one armor set’s appearance with another set’s stats (aka transmog), and a new high-contrast accessibility option.

Ghost of Yōtei originally launched on October 2, 2025, and the Complete Edition arrives just in time for its first anniversary celebration. Players who already own the game can also access the free v2.0 additions without purchasing the Complete Edition Upgrade, but if you want to play the new expansion and Most Wanted mode, you will need to pay for the upgrade ($14.99).
